Two couples dined here 6/17. We looked at many restaurant menus at the Lewisburg Visitor Center and were surprised at how expensive Lewisburg restaurants were. Competing with excellent Philadelphia and D.C. restaurant pricing. Probably the influence of nearby Greenbrier Resort but, we all felt that the area and offerings generally didn't support the prices we saw.
Our hotel (Fairfield Inn) suggested Bella Casa (the Visitor Center didn't have a sample menu). Wonderful suggestion! We opted to dine indoors (visit 6/17/13). Ambiance was nice though the room was small and, therefore, a little noisy.
The house salad is great: a small antipasto. We can recommend the house dressing, an oil base with herbs. Two had Veal Frances ($18.95) and declared it "wonderful". One had Veal Parmesan ($18.95) and felt it ranked with the best she has had in years. The Orange Roughy ($18.95) was lightly crusted and grilled - excellent. Though opted for beer that evening, the wine list was excellent and well priced. House wine-by-the-glass was $6.00. Imported and premium beer was $4.25, domestic $3.25. Beer offerings were adequate. Service was excellent and all were friendly.
In addition to the entrees we had 3 bottles of imported beer, one coke ($2.50) and 2 desserts (free, compliments of the Fairfield). Total tab was under $94.
After looking at what was offered (via menus) at many of the up-scale restaurants in Lewisburg, Bella Casa was a great choice. The entire experience was excellent.
