“Musky Room and an Inattentive Staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

- Room smelled of dampness and stale cigarettes. - A/C unit had an internal electric fire, was reported, but never addressed by Hotel staff. - Next morning the Hotel Fire Alarms go off, we called the front desk to see if we should evacuate. They said they would call back, but didn't. - Will Never Stay Again.

I booked a room here when I ran the Tough Mudder this past weekend...All in all, it hit the spot...the room was clean, breakfast was great, we had 1st floor rooms, & the staff got us checked in very quickly. The only minor complaint and this is very minor - it was somewhat noticeable when rooms above me ran water. I partially attribute this to me being nervous/anxious for the race in the am and not soundly sleeping the night before. I would definitely stay here in the future if I'm in the area!

Being able to have the hotel so close to the highway and the excellent staff made our stay a pleasant one. After a long day in the car, it was nice to stretch out, get a good night's sleep and have a wonderful breakfast before continuing our trip.

We travel to Inwood many times each year to visit our kids, usually staying with them. Due to unforeseen circumstances, though, my daughter made reservations for us this time at the Hampton Inn. We enjoyed our stay in every way. It was good to find that, even in a very small community, the chain's standards are maintained and exceeded. We particularly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, with its great variety; including a variety of fruits, omelets, oatmeal and other cereals, waffles, etc. There are several varieties of coffee and tea available in the lobby 24 hours a day. The lady that maintains the kitchen and breakfast service was very friendly and accommodating.

1st night stopover on 4 week trip (same as last year). Exellent accessible room with regular frame bed to accomodate our lift which has to slide under bed. Great service and very good stopover except on checkout desk clerk told us a company snow plow backed into our van. We were promised payment for repair but it will have to wait until our return home.

Room Tip: excellent accessible room.

I stayed at this hotel for almost 3 weeks while attending a training course. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. The bed was great. I usually don't sleep real well in hotels but I slept great here. The location is what it is, about 20 minutes from everywhere and an hour or so from DC, but it was close to the training site. My only beef with my entire stay was breakfast. I know they have to use the corporate approved menu but it seemed like the same thing day in and day out, and I take issue with the cold eggs with shedded cheese on them. I mean it was literally eggs with cold shredded cheddar on them. The hot stuff just wasn't hot. Not that many people use them, but the laundry facilities were not so great. The dryer was barely alive and would not dry clothes. The fitness center was a stationary bike, treadmill and elliptical from the early 2000's from what I can tell (lacking a bit there). If they had suites in the building, the breakfast wasn't mediocre and the "fitness center" a bit more fit I would have given them an excellent.

Room Tip: There are NO suites so choices are limited to smoking and non smoking. Stay on the North side of the...
