“Reminds of old drugstore, but better food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

Family reunion (10 adults + 4 kids) dropped in Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. Excellent sandwiches and gelato, too. Everyone liked their food, even our picky little boy. Interesting old decor / items for sale on the shelves. Very pleasant service from the two ladies behind the counter.

“Down Off the Interstate Again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

You know you're on to something when you walk into a restaurant - a Bistro, really - and every seat is taken, including those outside on an 80°+ day. This pleasant establishment in the heart of the historic district offers a fixed but large selection of salads, pizza, subs, sandwiches and "combo" meals. Plus, on Sunday's, a Sunday Dinner is offered that is different every week (today it was fried chicken, mac & cheese, and mashed cauliflower). In the mood for something lighter, I tried the "Bobcat BLT," a standard but generously portioned BLT (the Bobcat is the local high school mascot) on toasted whole wheat with homemade potato salad. Other homemade specialties include the Peanut Butter Pie (it moves out of the case briskly) and assorted cupcakes, cookies, and specialty items. Hinton was, is and always will be a railroad town in West Virginia's New River Gorge, so some menu items have a rail-themed name. The terms are explained on the menu. The outdoor seating is seasonal. Reservations for large groups only.

“Slim Pickins in Hinton, but this one works”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Just passing thru and needed a meal. We found The Market to be a small and friendly place. Decent sandwiches and salads did the trick for us and a little gelato for desert was included in the special. What a deal, check this place out.

“So much better than fast food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

This place is in an old storefront building in historic downtown Hinton. I had an excellent BLT and my wife had a great chicken salad croissant; the atmosphere is really neat.

“Delish!! Market”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

The Market at Courthouse Square in Historic Down Hinton provides a great, casual stop along your travels or walking tour of the Historic District. The Market has deli sandwiches, panninis, salads, soups and , oh yeah! Gelato!. It's also a great place to enjoy a meal before crossing the street to attend a movie or live performance ant the beautifully restored, historic Ritz Theatre.
