Arrived after a fairly stressful drive due to poor weather, driving from Canada to Florida, for a one-night stay. Booked in advance on Choice Hotels website, reserved for $53.10 plus taxes with option to cancel before 6pm on day of arrival, which we felt was reasonable and we liked the flexibility of being able to cancel on the same day if for any reason we couldn't get there.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, and check-in and check-out were quick. Hotel is large, 2 different buildings each with 2 floors with outdoor corridors and stairs; ice and vending machines on the ground floor. There is an outdoor pool with a very large area around it, closed (of course) during our March visit.

Our second-floor room was older but renovated and clean. Everything worked, including the free wireless internet, except for the thermostat on the heater (minor inconvenience - the heater itself worked well). The free continental breakfast in the hotel's gift shop was limited - we've seen bigger at similar hotels - but staff were on hand to replenish everything.

The on-site restaurant and bar was a very pleasant surprise - "Elliotts Whitewater Bar & Grill". We arrived late, tired and cold and decided to have a late dinner here rather than driving into downtown Fayetteville. The steak and chicken specials were really good - great salads, too - and quite reasonably priced, the service was great, and we were really happy to have a good hot meal and just walk back to our room.

Our only annoyance was the extra $1 added to each room bill for the in-room safe. We've seen this at a few Quality Inns recently - it's in the fine print they ask you initial when you check in, and if you don't use the safe you have to ask them to remove it on check-out BEFORE they finalize your bill. Seems petty when the WiFi and breakfast are included in the room price. (It's a good safe, big enough for most laptop computers, but we didn't need to use it.)

Overall, very nice, reasonable value, and we would certainly stay here again.
