“Very nice clean hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

Nothing fancy, but the rooms were clean, and quiet. Great location for rafting. Adventures of the gorge just a few miles away. The bridge is about two miles away. Didn't use the pool as it was too chilly. Ate at the restaurant/bar... Great to be able to have a few drinks and walk back to the room. Would definately stay again

If you are in town for the outdoor adventure and don't need to be pampered this hotel is fine. The beds were comfortable and the location was good. I'm not sure if someone had a cat in the room or if it was just the very old carpet but there was a strange smell. We bought an air freshener from Wal-mart which helped a little. Towels were very thin and shower pressure was very weak. Price was good compared to everything else in the area and included breakfast. New carpet and window treatments with a bathroom renovation would do wonders!

Thanks for staying with us ! We're working on the upgrades! Presently we have upgraded 40 of the 106 rooms with new window treatments carpet ect... I am wondering if the smell which you described may be caused from a leaky air conditioner . We have that issue come up occasionally where the ac does't drain properly and the condensation drains on to the carpet and for some reason smells like cat urine. We will get on it and check it out asap. Again thanks for staying with us and your comments come see us again !

I (a 64 yo male) stayed here for 8 days in early August, 2014 and met with friends who were camping in Riftrafters just 3 minutes away. This is a great motel, rooms are clean, bathrooms too with all you could need. Flat screen TV, microwave (I made popcorn only) and small fridge to keep drinks cold. My room was quiet, except perhaps for the hum of the AC unit, but I found a solution to that. I turned up the AC to it's highest level during the day when I was out and then before bed, turned it off completely and the room stayed cool until the morning and with NO noise whatsoever. The free breakfast included cereal, yogurt, eggs, sausage, biscuits, fruit and a waffle machine, but was a bit crowded on the weekends, weekdays only 6 people or so. It's very close to the bridge and I also made it to Hawks Nest, Twin Falls, Beckley, Grandview, the Highland Scenic Highway, Babcock State Park, Sandstone Falls and Thurmond with little effort, except for the super up and down winding roads all over WV. Minutes away there are several restaurants, we choose Bob Evans and Ginos almost every night, great food and good prices. They also had a pool which I did not use, but it looked great and was almost always empty. It's a basic motel, with friendly staff and clean rooms and I would recommend it highly.

Room Tip: Second floor means no noise above you, I stayed in the back with no foot or pool traffic and it was...

Thanks for staying with us ! We appreciate your kind comments . Sounds like you had a good trip and enjoyed the whole area which is awesome. We strive to make each of our guests stays' an enjoyable one. We are replacing our older AC units as they do seem to hum no matter what we do to repair them. Again thanks for your stay . Hope you come back and see us again soon. The fall season is a wonderful time for sightseeing and it's not so crowded.

Here's the thing, folks, this is a Quality Inn. It's not the Ritz, it's not even close to a Hampton Inn. It's going to have low carpet with snags, loud AC units, SD TVs called "flat-screens," cheap furniture, one teeny garbage can per room, paper-thin towels and construction vehicles in the lot.

Here's what else it has: super friendly staff, comfortable beds, clean sheats, great pillows, strong wifi and a big hot breakfast included. Also: big, clean swimming pool, grill and picnic pavilion, cornhole, tennis courts, a basketball court and a Dairy Queen in walking distance.

I think it's the only hotel in Fayetteville. We discovered in last year driving through from Bourbon Country back to DC and went back this year to explore the area and raft the Lower New River (with Cantrell's -- really great group). We didn't try the bar and grill (chose Pies and Pints instead - awesome) - next year, maybe!

Four stars for being what it is! We wish we could have hooked our Apple TV up, and I would have rather watched anything but the polarizing Fox News on in the breakfast room, but that may be too much to ask for under $100/night!

Room Tip: Downstairs facing the pool (otherwise you hear the highway).

The staff were great. We checked in walked into the room I noticed dust on the desk... No big deal, but the toilet was GROSS hair, pee and poo in the toilet. We walked out spoke to the staff they gave us another room and refunded some money off our bill. Still dirty but not as bad. It's old we did not expect perfection .

Nice clean hotel. Bed and linens were clean and comfortable. Breakfast offered many options. Only change would be that they start it earlier. We were there for White water rafting trip in which we had to be there at 7 am. Breakfast did not start till 630 so we had to scarf our food and run. Would have been great if they opened it at 6 am. As previous reviewer said we had to also turn on the heat and it had a very musty smell. This hotel has outdoor pool, tennis court and basketball courts. We did not get to use due to time and weather. Would stay here again when in the area.

nice hotel. clean, quiet (except for the people walking above us) and close to attractions. good breakfast in the morning but it could open at 6am instead of 6:30 to accommodate those that have early things planned. we will definitely be staying at this hotel again. only complaint is that the smell from the a/c/heat unit smelled funny when we turned on the heat. maybe that's because we had the heat on in july!!! that's just not right in itself.

Room Tip: room 122 was good. away from the highway, close to pool and restaurant.
