“First class resort”

We stayed for 2 nights at the lodge. We wanted a room with a balcony to enjoy the WV scenery, but had to "request" 2 chairs for the balcony as none were provided. We ate at all three restaurants and enjoyed quality foods. Outdoor pool and bar were wonderful. Played a round of golf on Cobb course - highly recommend for golfers.

Room Tip: Request 2nd or 3rd floor rooms.

Very nice stay during Father/Child golf weekend. Golf courses were in great shape and the grounds were as well. The liesure center was very nice, especially the indoor pool. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys a serene getaway.

We appreciated the friendly and helpful staff at the front desk, in housekeeping, at
dinner at Bunkers, and at the Rotunda at breakfast.

It was so nice to have 2 queen beds in our room so we could all get
a good night's sleep, as opposed to double/full beds. I also appreciated
having a 2nd sink outside of the bathroom for use when another person is
in the shower, etc. Thank you for having HGTV as a channel choice, and the
in-room coffee pot was much appreciated. It's the little things that make the difference!

At a property of this level and expense, I was surprised that they didn't have personnel
to help take the luggage up to the room. It was quite a hassle to "wrestle" the awkward
luggage cart up and down the elevator and to the room and in and out of the front doors to the car.

Overall our stay was very nice. We'd stay at Glade Springs again. It is a little difficult to
get to, but the natural beauty is wonderful! .

My sister and I went to Glade Springs resort in July. We spent three nights booked under a golf package and a whitewater rafting package. We played golf three times-once on the Cobb course and twice on the Stonehaven course. Both courses were in excellent shape and play moved at a reasonable rate. The weather was in the low 80's which they considered a "heat wave" and we considered "heaven"! We were privately shuttled from the resort to our whitewater rafting trip on the Lower New River and our driver was waiting when we finished. The rafting trip was well organized, the scenery was beautiful, the guides knowledgeable, and all that made for a memorable day. All the food we had at the resort was very good (especially the quesadilla at Bunkers!) We had a complete and delicious hot breakfast buffet provided each day in our package plan. This was a perfect getaway but I would like to go back and stay long enough to experience the spa AND play golf on their third course-Woodhaven.

Room Tip: The rooms in the Manor house are being refurbished. Excellent floorplan- couples golfing trip. Check...

The golf courses and grounds in general seemed to be well cared for. Lots of different kinds of activities. The guest rooms and conference areas need a bit of TLC. I started my stay in one of the Chestnut Hill Cottages and due to a VERY rowdy group of golfers I was moved to the Executive Suites for the first half of my stay. That room was nice enough and I had no real issues although a friend had a mouse in her room. However, on the 3rd day of my stay I had to move back to the Chestnut Hill Cottages. I was in a different Cottage so no rowdy golfers. However, the air conditioning unit wasn't working, someone had to come out twice to fix it. The wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom and the shower had some moldy spots. The rooms didn't appear to have been updated since the 80's; the wallpaper was red checks with a sunflower border. I think with some attention to the guest rooms and conference areas this resort could be top notch. This resort is a sister property to Greenbrier so I suspect they get all the money.

Room Tip: Ask for the Executive Suites - much nicer than the Cottages.

My husband and I planned a getaway at Glade Springs after seeing a mention of the resort in our local paper. We were very glad we did and plan on coming back.
The grounds a beautifully maintained, and there is plenty to do at the resort itself. So much, in fact, that we didn't have time to get to everything. Highlights for us were the meal we had at Glade's, the fine dining restaurant on site, and the afternoon of horseback riding.

Glade's featured both regular and prix-fixe menus, the prix fixe included an appetizer and entree for $30. We were both very pleased with our prix fixe selections. The wine list is small but diverse with some very good values, especially on a couple of pretty high-end California Cabernets. The restaurant manager came by to greet us in our discussion he enthusiastically discussed his plans to expand the list.

We went on a two hour trail ride and saw all kinds of wildlife - lots of deer, rabbits and even a fox. Our guide was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

All the staff, in fact, went out of their way to be helpful and made our stay that much better.

Had our annual golf trip a group of 12 from Ohio, this is our second time back the first time was 2007 and we liked it then but we absolutely loved it this time.Everything about the place is just perfect, the golf courses are FIRST CLASS we usually go to a different place every year (myrtle, michigan, florida, north carolina etc) but as a group we have decided to make this our permanant home. Its just not the golf the Rec Center-Pool is very nice the breakfast buffet is perfect for golfers in a hurry,we stayed in the Chestnut Hill Lodges and they are outstanding.Lastly but probably the most important are the staff, they might be the nicest people I have ever met,Heather Ouimette the group coordinator is the BEST I would call her it seemed like every other day the weeks leading up to the trip with some kind of issue or question and she would resolve it before I hung up with her,Justin the Head Pro is super cool and will do anything for you, another example on our second 18 of the day a couple guys were getting hungry and the cartgirl drove all the way to the clubhouse and brought back cheeseburgers.WE love this place and cant wait til next May..
