“We'll be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2010

My wife and I wanted to take a little mini-vacation to hang at the pool and do some gambling. I checked out all the local motels and decided on Comfort Inn for two nights. All the motels in the area were pricey at around $100/night. I could find no deals on the internet, probably because they appear to be full quite often. Nevertheless, when reserving the room I was given a senior discount. That was cool. I did notice that not all rooms have refridges or microwaves and requested one when making the reservation. The attendant advised calling the morning of arrival to check as that is when the rooms are assigned. I called twice and received a call back as they were very busy, but we got the refridge. They said they hope to have all rooms with refridges soon but they are only in 80% of the rooms. There were three free high speed computers for use...great. Local and USA Today papers were free to read. A small bar (with a pool table!) provided limited appetizers and reasonable prices. It was adjacent to the outdoor pool and they would bring food to you at poolside. There was also an indoor pool and exercise equipment available which we didn't use. The rooms were fine and clean. The shower head worked well. There was a free shuttle on call to and from the casino. Breakfast was good although we missed it once and arrived late the second time. Coffee was available all day. The Housekeeping staff were very friendly and they did their job well. The pool was perfect and allowed for sunbathing, drinking, eating and socializing with friends...as well as a cooling dip when getting too hot.
All in all, this was just what we wanted. And they delivered. We will do it again.

We were heading back home from our trip to the Carolina Coast and needed a place to stay for the night. We waited until the last minute, and assumed we could get a hotel in Charleston proper at a Marriot. For some crazy reason almost every hotel was booked from 20 miles south east to 10 miles west! We saw the road sign and quickly called from the highway and got a room. I was quite skeptical after having a "luxury" vacation, but this hotel was super clean! and the front desk clerk was super friendly and welcoming as we came in at 9pm with a 2 and 4 year old ready for bed!
The only thing you need to make sure(if you're a non-smoker) is get a NON-smoking room. We got one, but had to walk through the "smoking" area and it was thick!!
All in all, I wanted to make sure to share this review because it really did exceed my expectations!

This was a "just off the interstate" stop midpoint during the homeward leg of our vacation roadtrip. It was tad pricey (nearly $100 rate + taxes) but that rate also paid for some nicer amenities. This is the sort of hotel you'd want to stay at if you were checking in at a reasonably early hour and needed a place to get some R&R from the road, especially for families. My regret is that we arrived too late to take advantage of those amenities.

The hotel staff at check in and check out were friendly and effcient. While the property was pet-friendly, beware the higher than average "dog fee," However, there weren't many other pet-friendly options in this area. Also, while the room rate was at the top end for this sort of property, there are a lot of amenities.

Our room had newer furnishings and bedding, and everything was clean. The room had free wireless with a strong signal. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, well above-average for hotels. Our room also had a mini-fride and microwave, although most rooms did not.

This hotel had a really nice indoor pool, and an outdoor pool as well. There was a semi-enclosed patio area that would have been great for just lounging and having a drink after a long daty on the road-- if we hadn't arrived so late. The lobby had several computers and work stations available for use and 24-hour coffee service. This would have been a comfortable hotel to stay at for 2-3 days.

The breakast buffet was above-average. The buffet area was well attended to by a hotel employee who busily kept the buffet items well-stocked and promptly cleaned the vacated tables. There was a good variety of pastries, breads, cereals, yogurts and several hot dishes (waffles, biscuits & gravy). The only shortcoming was the shortage of fresh fruit.

The area around the hotel is a fairly well-developed suburban area of Charleston, WV. As such, there are a lot of stores, auto services, fast food and sit-down restaurants nearby. Accordingly, the views from this hillside hotel were of I-64 and the aforesaid businesses.

We stayed here the night of my wedding and stayed in the suite with the hot tub. Room was nice, but the hallway to walk to our room was HUGE. It tooks forever, and as many commented its smelled very musty and smelled like old nasty cigarettes. When we arrived at the hotel, our wedding party and us wanted to have a few more drinks at the Lazy Dig Salon and the bar tender lady was VERY RUDE! If you walk in there and its an older lady working, just turn back around. Even if your staying there, she cuts you off once you drank one pitcher of beer. I doubt I will recommend this to a friend because how rude the lady at the bar was. If you do not drink, and just need somewhere to sleep, then its not a bad place.

this comfort-inn is without a doubt the best choice hotels property we've ever stated at!!! from the time you check-in to the time you leave, the staff will go overboard to make your stay as pleasant as possible!!! the hotel is very clean, the new indoor pool and spa area, are a great place to relax with family and friends. the rooms are spacious, the beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are clean. if you would like to relax at night, then the lazy dog saloon on premises, is a great alternative to drinking and driving! overall, this place is a gem! this is the standard that all choice properties should try to live up to!!!!! keep up the good work!!! and thank-you for your hospitality!!!! bill perrelli georgetown ky

The hotel was clean and well kept. The pool areas looked nice and the breakfast was good.
Our only complaint was that the hallways smelled strongly of smoke and were not air conditioned.
The carpet and bedcovers in our room looked new but the wallpaper was tobacco stained and the smoke odor prominent. The a/c did not seem to be working up to par but we were comfortable enough.
