Very Old Hotel that needs many many updates..... Great service but thats about all I can say good about it.

On our way home from a rather disappointing honeymoon, we enjoyed a stay at this holiday inn. We stayed in Oct 05 as well and were very pleased with the room, the river view and the price considering it was in downtown, a short walk from the Charleston Town Centre. A darn sight better then staying in South Charleston like had in the past. The room was clean and very pleasing. Beds very comfy, my hubby and I each had a bed of our own that nite!! Loooking forward to returning this fall!

Clean room with a river view - Older hotel but friendly staff and plenty of towels and hot water. Roll away bed available with no hassles! We would stay again.

Stayed for a night at this Holiday Inn for a short business trip. Guy at the reception desk was quick with the keys to the room. Settled in smoothly. Room was kind of small but had an excellent view of the river. I think all the room face the river. Dinner at the hotel's 10th floor restuarant was a very unsatisfying experience. The service ran at snail's pace, entrees were kind of pricey. I ordered swordfish which was easily the worst swordfish I have ever had. It had a strong fishy odor and wasn't properly cooked. The bill for a soup , a drink and entree came out as $40 with gratuity. Not at all worth. I had to call the room service couple of times for breakfast in the morning and it took them forever to bring the speciality omlette which was as a matter of fact tasty. Bed was comfortable and sheets were nice, clean and smooth. Bathroom and rest of the linen was nice. The reason I had chosen this place was because it was 5 minutes away from where I had to for business. So overall I would probably go again to this hotel but avoid the dining service.
