“Very good local restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

Paddys is located in one of the most historic structures in Charles Town. The first Governor of Ohio lived in the house and John Wilkes Booth used to read poetry. Today, Paddys is located in the structure and consists of a pub and restaurant. Paddys has typical pub selections plus some local specialities. The pork sandwich with fries is very good. My wife said her fish and chips were great. Check this local establishment out.

“Good food, good prices”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Visited after the recommendation from a local. Typical pub food with some Irish specialties. I had the bangers and mash made with their home-made sausage. The sausages could have had a little more flavor, but overall it was tasty and the portion was huge. Others in my party had the fried oysters and hamburgers, and none of us were able to clean our plates. They were not busy, and service was slow, so don't be in a hurry.

“Great but could be excellent.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013 via mobile

A really charming restaurant in one of the oldest buildings in Charles Town. The food is always excellent. The lunch specials during the week are always the way to go. Service is extremely slow, so don't go there if you're in a hurry.

“Great Irish Pub!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

Paddy's is the real deal, serving the best pint of Guinness this side of the pond (that I've found). They have fabulous fish & chips - fresh Cod flown in twice a week, and hand cut chips. Their Shepherd's Pie is really fine, and their hamburgers are as good as you can find anywhere. Also really enjoyed the Jameson Chicken, served with your choice of vegetables and potatoes. Tried a couple of deserts (usually don't have room), and they were delicious, and not too large a portion. The Pub can get noisy, but this is a charming place in an historic building (the old Charles Washington Inn). If you are lucky, on a chilly evening the fire will be roaring.
