“Worth the Travel Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

The Final Cut, located in the Hollywood Casino in Charlestown, WV is a five star restaurant that would hold its own in any city. Don't let the fact that it is in a casino fool you. Their beef and fresh seafood is the finest. Everything is made fresh here, including the bread, and if the chef isn't happy with the quality, it won't come out of the kitchen. We have eaten here multiple time and always ask for Lasker. He has worked in some of the finest restaurants in New York and his suggestions are always spot-on. We have never been disappointed with the ambiance, the service, or the delicious food. From appetizers to desserts, everything is made to your order. During New Years and for Valentine's Day they offer a lobster special where you can preorder a 5-7 pound lobster that they fully cut for you so eating and sharing is easy. We would gladly drive to the Final Cut even though it is an hour away rather than go to Morton's or Ruth Chris. The entire experience is that much better.

“Not your average casino grub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

This is one of the finest experiences you will ever have. Not a cheap one but comparable to Morton's, Shula's and Capital Grille. The staff is there no matter what you need and they seem to love what they do. Our server was McLean and he was very helpful and knowledgable. He told us how to order our steaks and was there for refills without being on top of us. My 20 oz ribeye was cooked perfectly with pink throughout. I would call that medium well but he suggested medium plus as medium well there is just a small line of pink. Her filet was one of the few I've ever seen cooked that way without being butterfiled. Most places refuse to cook it past medium without slicing it in half and ruining a wonderful piece of meat. That went well with a beautiful lobster tail. Add grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes and you have a gourmet meal. Who knew you could get such a dining experience so close to home? You even forget you're in a casino. It's so quiet and the tall booths wrap around you. Save your time and gas driving to DC. You'll be glad you did.

“Third Time Was Not A Charm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

My husband and I had been here twice before and absolutely loved it. We raved about it to several of the people we know and actually said it was the best steak that we had ever eaten. Last night we returned and the meal was a huge disappointment. The filet that was so good before was now smaller with very little flavor. My husband's ribeye was good but still not up to the quality that we have come to expect. I hope that whatever changed will be fixed. I don't know that we will have dinner there again but will return to the bar area for drinks. The bartender there is awesome.
