We went midweek in September expecting one or two others. The car park was busy and it seemed lots of people were doing a walk.
Beautiful scenery. I wasn't able to walk due to an injured foot, but my wife enjoyed her walk.

“Hard work shows impressive results”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

It is clear that a great deal of hard work has been put in to repair the damage done by walkers and deer. The fenced in areas show what the surrounding countryside should look like and the range of flora and fauna that could be present. Even a short walk into the reserve is rewarding. A drive along the tiny road from Glen Lyon to Ben Lawers especially in the mist is magical.

“Nature Reserve provides easy access to the hill with explanatory leaflet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

Driving up 1500 ft means less slog to get to the hill . The reserve is between car park and Munro of the same name. Marked path is fairly easy but probably not suitable for very small children. Enclosed from the hill so no sheep or deer. I let the 2 dogs off the lead but within my sight. Although it was misty and then rained, I enjoyed a safe visit. The road is single track so watch out for motor homes!

“Cold, then warm, then cold, then warm, then really quite cold”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Good parking at the bottom (which is actually quite high up itself) - a voluntary £2 charge to aid upkeep seemed reasonable. At the start there is a track through a nature reserve area which is fenced round to keep animals (deer etc) out - very beautiful area with a stream running through it. this goes on for a while then you head out at the top of this and carry on up. Good paths right to the top - we went up on a clear warm day in June - could be different on a less savoury day. There can be cold breezes blowing across at times making it very variable on the trip. Always great though when you reach the summit :)
