“Could be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

We went to a Roman Bath in a cold and rainy afternoon. We had to change our clothes in a bathroom that was tight for one person and there are no lockers. The water was good and they let us stay more time as it was completely empty.

“Not too shabby!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2008

Just returned from a visit at Berkely Springs and the new Colonial Springs Spa. After driving to several of the different spas in Berkely Springs, my girlfriend and I decided on Colonial Springs. We were staying at the Best Western hotel which offered a 20% discount which turned out to be quiet a bargain compared to other spas offering the same services. We did enjoy the fact that they gave a couples massage. This is what we wanted and it was very nice having both of us in a large room getting our massages together. Most other places in Berkeley Springs did not offer couples massages so we ruled those out. We both came to the conclusion that the massages were well initiated by a very professional staff. The rooms were large and clean. If we had to fault anything, it would be the following: First, the spa is inside a house so the atmosphere wasn't what you would expect a spa to be like. Second, there are no water facilities such as whirlpool baths, steam rooms. They do offer a sauna (dry heat) but saunas aren't my thing. Lastly, we both felt the massages lacked something. We both felt relaxed and the massages were not bad by any means. They perhaps lacked both variety and deepness. The massages were generally light and relaxing as opposed to deep and invigorating. So, if you don't like a deep massage then this is your place. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend this spa to couples and especially if you don't like the deeper massages. With the hotel discount, you really can't go wrong.

“Colonial Springs Spa - Terrible Facial”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2008

My friend and I recently came here for a massage and facial. Both of us agreed that the massage was good but the facial was terrible. There was a nice head and neck massage, but the woman just slathered on some creams after that, then applied a mask and left. She was gone for over 20 minutes and when she got back, the facial was over. It was supposed to be a 45 minute facial.
