“GREAT Anniversary Weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

The Sleepy Creek Mountain Inn was absolutely beautiful. We stayed here for our 10 year anniversary in the Almost Heaven Room. The room was Immaculate, very clean and inviting. the bed was very comfortable and the whirl pool tub was relaxing. There were lamps all through the room so you could have as little or as much light as you want. The one thing I would warn is that if you are looking for intimacy, you can hear the other guests coming in and out of the house, so that could dampen the mood!

The food was great and plentiful. We left with full stomachs. Dale and Linda worked together to provide an hearty breakfast.

They were full of information and gave hints and tips of where and where not to eat. Even directing us to some of the local places.

The grounds were stunning. We walked to the pond and watched the fish and frogs. Saw many deer and watched the sun set and rise. Loved having tea on the porch each morning.

We did have the in room massage service and wow, so nice to be able to go from massage to hot tub.

We would recommend this place. Yes, it is off the beaten path but that what makes it great. no city noise, no TV in the room allows for more couple time!!!

Also while you are there and like the outdoors, check out the paw paw tunnel!

We had a wonderful stay for the weekend. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. We had nice long talks with them as if we had been friends forever. Our room was very romantic with the fireplaces in the bedroom and bathroom. We loved the whirlpool tub which we used several times. We did a 22 mile bike trip on the C&O railroad bike path which was beautiful in the fall. The whirlpool tub was exactly what we needed afterwards. The breakfast in the morning was all homemade and delicious. It was family style with all the guests sitting, eating and talking together. I loved Dale, our host, ringing a big bell to summon us for breakfast. The inn atmosphere is very quiet and relaxing. It is great to really get away from the hustle and bustle. I wouldn't change anything. The inn and hosts are full of character and West Virginia charm.

My husband and I love to get away from our hectic life and relax. Our weekend stay at Sleepy Creek Mountain Inn was truly relaxation at it's BEST! It is a beautiful country setting. Our room was wonderful! The gas fireplace kept us warm, and made it so romantic and cozy!

We fell in love with Berkeley Springs, but really enjoyed being away from it all by staying just a couple miles outside of town. It was so quiet and peaceful. We hiked on the huge property at the Inn, and got to see deer, rabbits, and squirrels playing! Then with just a 5 minute drive we could be in town enjoying the shops and restaurants. It was an amazing stay!

We watched an old movie on television, and played cards. Then we went to our room, turned on the radio and danced in front of the fireplace. After dancing, we took a long soak in the huge whirlpool tub. It was like a second honeymoon!

The owner's made us feel right at home. They were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious!

We felt like we were in a whole other world. It was so relaxing and carefree! We would recommend Sleepy Creek Mountain Inn to anyone who needs to relax or is looking for a romantic getaway! We will definitely stay there again!!

My finace' and I have stayed at many different B&Bs. The customer service was horrible starting the moment we showed up. We arrived at the location about 15 mins early and to our suprise, no one was there. We even called ahead to say that we would be a few minutes early. No one answered the phone, so we left a message that we would return after our appointments in town at the spa. We then got a call from the gentleman that runs the place while in our appts and he was very upset that we didnt show up at our check in time.

We later checked in to our room. After checking in we realized that there was nothing to do there. No books, No tv, no radio or anyhting to that affect. We did not feel very welcome at all. It was almost as if it was just a place to sleep and if we wanted anything to, we would have to leave and go back to town.

The next morning we woke up to the sound of this guy BANGING ON A POT to delcare that breakfast was ready. There was no requests, notice of the menu, or suggested time of when breakfast was goping to be.(which btw... was not even good.) I would have rather gone to the nearest mom and pop diner than eaten there. Later that afternoon we came back to our room from hiking to find out that there was no service to our room at all. No clean towels, no clean wash cloths, the bed was not made or anything else. We had to search the house ourselves to find clean towels and wash cloths ourselves since the owners we no where to be found.

It was so horrible that we decided to leave on the second day without even telling the owner. WE seriously DID NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH HIM. I would have felt more welcome at my X inlaws home then we did here.

My wife and I have stayed at a number of B&Bs, from the best of the best, to downright awful. Sleepy Creek Mountain Inn is certainly up there with the best of them. The owners are friendly, the rooms are fantastic, and the property is GIGANTIC.

We stayed in the 'Almost Heaven' room. It's a log cabin style room, and would be *very* nice when it's chilly out. It has it's own fireplace, and attached (huge) bathroom with a fantastic whirlpool. My wife and I live in a much more densely populated area, so it was a welcome change to be able to sit out on the front porch late at night, and listen to the complete silence.

The town of Berkeley Springs is a short drive away, and I'm glad that we chose Sleepy Creek as opposed to something actually in town. The town itself is great, but it's nice to come back to the Inn and feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere as opposed to being in a town - which was certainly a nice change for us.

We have a few more destinations on our list before we make it back around to WV, but when we do, we'll definitely be staying at Sleepy Creek.

Room Tip: The only room that we saw was 'Almost Heaven' - it was *fantastic*. In-room fireplace, attac...

Not only was the bedroom extra large, the sitting room was very spacious and looked out on beautiful greenery. The breakfast was plentiful ahnd delicious and I was able to bring my dog at no extra charge, The hostess was interesting and nice to talk with.

Room Tip: Both rooms are large but the $90 room is condierably larger. The other room is, however, closer to t...

We knew this was the right choice when we stepped out of the car after the short drive from town. Standing by the car, there was not a sound to be heard. Just quietness. Perfect. It was worth being away from town where constant truck traffic can be heard from most places. Entering the house, we were immediately warmed by the rustic log walls, a nice contrast to the crisp air of a December day. Dale greeted us and appreciated that we were punctual, checked us in and gave a thorough review of the room and amenities. We stayed in the Wild and Wonderful room which although not large, was amply large and cozy enough for the two of us. The electric fireplace provided plenty of additional heat for us when needed. The inn is exceptionally clean. The jacuzzi tub was a great amenity and we enjoyed it. This room with the white walls is more modern than the adjacent Almost Heaven room with the exposed log walls and stone fireplace. We would love to go back and stay in Almost Heaven. We stayed two nights and took time to hike the land behind the house and enjoy the creek that cut between two hillsides. Breakfast both days was tasty, hearty, and simple: eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and jellies with orange juice and tea and some fruit. Our bed was on the firm side and we like more padding, but that's our preference. Beds in other rooms probably vary. The costs are comparable to most places in Berkeley Springs from what I can tell. Added bonus here is you don't have "city" noises and traffic. The drive into town is quick and actually quite scenic if you take some of the alternate roads. Dale and Linda provided very hospitable and attentive service. We would stay there again.
