“Charming and convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

The Brookside Manor is such a lovely B & B! I always wanted a babbling brook by my bedroom, and here I had it. Roger is a charming and welcoming host, serving a very nice selection of breakfast items. The room had many appointments often missing in guest rooms. It was spacious, attractive, and comfortable. The inn is close enough for a leisurly stroll to downtown Berkeley Springs to enjoy all the galleries and restaurants. I will stay again!

We had a great stay at Brookside Manor and the caretaker was lovely and very helpful. We went for our honeymoon and there had been flooding in the area that week so many restaurants and other locations were closed. We still had a great time and the caretaker comped us one night of our stay as he felt bad that we were unable to do some of the activities that we had planned. We plan to return and I would recommend to anyone planning to stay in Berkeley Springs area.

We are so glad you made the effort to stay at Brookside Manor even though Berkeley Springs was experiencing some difficult weather issues. We are glad our innkeeper tried to compensate for the closed businesses and lost activities by comping you a night's stay. We hope you will be back to enjoy Berkeley Springs in better weather.

Brookside Manor is a good halfway point between myself and a very dear friend of mine. We shared the Brookview Suite with its twin beds-perfect for 2 ladies.

Roger the innkeeper is an absolute gem. He started with a warm welcome, and then a lovely tour of the property. He had placed snacks and cold drinks out for us then off to the Brookview Suite, which had all the comforts of home and pretty views of the creek to the rear. It's obvious that this home is very well cared for, and meticulously clean.

If you need a recommendation for dinner just ask. Thankfully Roger mentioned Tari's. Not only was the food was delicious (try the crab cakes!), it's within walking distance along with several other spots we wished we had more time to try. We spent much of the evening back at the Brookside catching up on the outdoor patio.

Now on to the continental breakfast...wow the choices! Being able to help yourself in a span of several hours is just wonderful.

A sincere thank you to Roger for your kindness. We plan on returning soon.

My husband and I needed a romantic getaway. Some people I worked with recommended staying at the Brookside Manor Cottage in Berkeley Springs, WV. I am so happy I listened to their recommendations!
We stayed at The Cottage at Brookside Manor. It is a separate living area from the house itself. The Cottage was exquisite, with its own kitchen area and bathroom. The bed was super comfortable.
I am an extreme neat freak, and found our room to be super clean and very nicely decorated. The owner, Roger, was very kind and helpful. He gave us lots of good ideas for our weekend stay.
We visited all the antique stores within walking and driving distance of our room. We ate at Tari's and the Ambraehouse, both recommended by Roger. All in all, our stay was a great escape from the pressures of life in general. Would recommend checking this getaway out if you feel the need to just get away.

Room Tip: I would recommend reserving The Cottage at Brookside Manor, for the privacy.

My Girlfriend surprised me with a trip out to Berkeley Springs and chose the Brookside Manor for the night, we were running a little late but the Owner was very nice in accommodating us and making us feel right at home! The decoration is very neat and you can tell that he spent a lot of time on this. We had a nice room overlooking the street, nice comfy bed, spacious room, clean and a very cool bathroom with a hot tub jacuzzi style although it hadnt been used in a while so might want to check that. There are little amenities in the room which are a nice touch. Room was a little cold i thought but loved the white noise machine in the room! There was a kitchen downstairs where we made hot tea and had some goodies. A cozy TV room but the TV was not working right. Breakfast in the morning was good, self serve pastries, juices and homemade jam. We only spent one night there but we really enjoyed it, great location right near the historical springs which is very convenient. We will be back if were in the area.

Room Tip: Use the hot tubs!

Right next door to the Berkeley Springs Historical area, Brookside Manor is the perfect location for those wanting to walk (and wanting to avoid the infamous Berkeley Springs parking tickets!). The rooms are large, comfortable, and welcoming without the fussy bric-a-brac that comes with many bed and breakfasts. Here, one has a sense of privacy and peace of being next to the creek yet only steps away from the park, shops, and cafes that make Berkeley Springs a tourist destination.

Room Tip: Only B&B in town with a twin-bedded room. Double rooms are quieter as they are at the back of t...

My mom and I stayed at the Brookside Manor on our recent visit to Berkeley Springs and we had a great stay! We arrived at the Brookside Manor early in the afternoon and originally stopped just to see if we could use the restroom and then go about our day because we were 3 hours earlier than the check-in time. Roger, the innkeeper, not only allowed us to check in and but helped us bring our luggage into our room. We were in the Brookview Suite, which had two twin beds, perfect for a mother/daughter or girl's weekend! Our room was very comfortable and we had a very nice time.

The only thing that I would recommend would be for the owners/innkeeper would be to have some more board games since there are not TV's in each room. My mom and I were having a hard time finding something to do before we went to bed.

All in all, we had a fabulous time at the Brookside Manor and enjoyed our time there!
