“Warm and Welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

Brookside Manor is a good halfway point between myself and a very dear friend of mine. We shared the Brookview Suite with its twin beds-perfect for 2 ladies.

Roger the innkeeper is an absolute gem. He started with a warm welcome, and then a lovely tour of the property. He had placed snacks and cold drinks out for us then off to the Brookview Suite, which had all the comforts of home and pretty views of the creek to the rear. It's obvious that this home is very well cared for, and meticulously clean.

If you need a recommendation for dinner just ask. Thankfully Roger mentioned Tari's. Not only was the food was delicious (try the crab cakes!), it's within walking distance along with several other spots we wished we had more time to try. We spent much of the evening back at the Brookside catching up on the outdoor patio.

Now on to the continental breakfast...wow the choices! Being able to help yourself in a span of several hours is just wonderful.

A sincere thank you to Roger for your kindness. We plan on returning soon.

My husband and I needed a romantic getaway. Some people I worked with recommended staying at the Brookside Manor Cottage in Berkeley Springs, WV. I am so happy I listened to their recommendations!
We stayed at The Cottage at Brookside Manor. It is a separate living area from the house itself. The Cottage was exquisite, with its own kitchen area and bathroom. The bed was super comfortable.
I am an extreme neat freak, and found our room to be super clean and very nicely decorated. The owner, Roger, was very kind and helpful. He gave us lots of good ideas for our weekend stay.
We visited all the antique stores within walking and driving distance of our room. We ate at Tari's and the Ambraehouse, both recommended by Roger. All in all, our stay was a great escape from the pressures of life in general. Would recommend checking this getaway out if you feel the need to just get away.

Room Tip: I would recommend reserving The Cottage at Brookside Manor, for the privacy.

My Girlfriend surprised me with a trip out to Berkeley Springs and chose the Brookside Manor for the night, we were running a little late but the Owner was very nice in accommodating us and making us feel right at home! The decoration is very neat and you can tell that he spent a lot of time on this. We had a nice room overlooking the street, nice comfy bed, spacious room, clean and a very cool bathroom with a hot tub jacuzzi style although it hadnt been used in a while so might want to check that. There are little amenities in the room which are a nice touch. Room was a little cold i thought but loved the white noise machine in the room! There was a kitchen downstairs where we made hot tea and had some goodies. A cozy TV room but the TV was not working right. Breakfast in the morning was good, self serve pastries, juices and homemade jam. We only spent one night there but we really enjoyed it, great location right near the historical springs which is very convenient. We will be back if were in the area.

Room Tip: Use the hot tubs!

Right next door to the Berkeley Springs Historical area, Brookside Manor is the perfect location for those wanting to walk (and wanting to avoid the infamous Berkeley Springs parking tickets!). The rooms are large, comfortable, and welcoming without the fussy bric-a-brac that comes with many bed and breakfasts. Here, one has a sense of privacy and peace of being next to the creek yet only steps away from the park, shops, and cafes that make Berkeley Springs a tourist destination.

Room Tip: Only B&B in town with a twin-bedded room. Double rooms are quieter as they are at the back of t...

My mom and I stayed at the Brookside Manor on our recent visit to Berkeley Springs and we had a great stay! We arrived at the Brookside Manor early in the afternoon and originally stopped just to see if we could use the restroom and then go about our day because we were 3 hours earlier than the check-in time. Roger, the innkeeper, not only allowed us to check in and but helped us bring our luggage into our room. We were in the Brookview Suite, which had two twin beds, perfect for a mother/daughter or girl's weekend! Our room was very comfortable and we had a very nice time.

The only thing that I would recommend would be for the owners/innkeeper would be to have some more board games since there are not TV's in each room. My mom and I were having a hard time finding something to do before we went to bed.

All in all, we had a fabulous time at the Brookside Manor and enjoyed our time there!

My brother-in-law sent my sister for a night away from the children to Berkeley Springs (and I got to be her traveling buddy). He reserved the Brook View Suite. The room, and house in general, was one of the most tastefully decorated B&Bs I've stayed at. There was a really nice view of the brook from our room. Roger, the host, walked us around the place upon our arrival, and the other two rooms looked just as nice. They were spacious and very clean. When we arrived there were truffles, cookies, and water for us, which was a very nice detail. The breakfast the next day was similar to a continental breakfast, but had a large variety of options including yogurt, fresh fruit, pastries, and cereal. What was nice is that it was available from around 8-11am, so there was no rush to get ready and be downstairs for breakfast. The house is also within walking distance of all the major sites in Berkeley Springs, which was very nice. On our way out Roger also had water and treats for us to take on our journey home. Overall, it was a great place to stay!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Brookside Manor, a B&B close to the Country Inn and the shops and restaurants in the town. Roger, the innkeeper, was helpful and genuinely friendly. He gave us some good advice about restaurants in town. We decided to take the Brookside Suite, even though it had twin beds. The Brookside suite has tastefully simple furnishings, a view of the brook, a very clean bathroom, and room enough to slow dance together. The whirpool bath was a treat, but there was only enough room for one.
The continental breakfast, was available over several hours and suited the laid back vibe of the place. Considering the reasonable price, this place was a find!
