“Must try their spa!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

The park itself is very small and you really can't do much except walk around. However, the spa that is located in the state park is excellent! The prices are reasonable and the water used for your own private Roman baths or whirlpool are from Berkeley Springs natural spring mineral water. The facility itself is very basic and doesn't feel like a "spa" in the sense that they don't have candles, soft music, or plush towels. However, the staff is extremely friendly and escort you to each station and answers any question that you have. They also don't make you feel uncomfortable since you are naked when you enter the Roman baths or whirlpool (although you do have the option to wear a swimming suit). I would definitely recommend the spa. It's not every day that you get to soak in natural mineral spring water and your skin definitely feels the difference. You don't prune as quickly and you feel more energized.

“Bath and Massage”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

People have been coming to this spot for centuries to bath in the natural springs. This actually is a place where George Washington was. You can stroll the park, for free, in less than 1/2 hour. Water from the spring is free if you have your own container and you can actually taste the difference.
Baths and massages do cost money. The facilities are not modern by any stretch of the imagination and that was a plus for us. We took this trip to get away and forget about everyday stuff. Old pictures on the walls take you back to an earlier slower time.
We shared a Roman bath before getting a massage. The bath was soothing and relaxing and set the mood for the massage. I said earlier that the place was not modern. There was no mood music, dim lighting or aroma's. Massage was basic, no deep tissue, hot stone, etc... That said, we both thought we each received an excellent massage. Shout out to Ann and Larry. 15 minute hot bath, 1 hour massage and a shower was $120.00 with tip per person. Great value.

“Interesting Little Park, But Not Worth Much Time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

The whole reason this town was founded is centered around the natural springs. The park built around the springs is nice and usually hosts some form of local event.

My wife and I were interested to stroll through the park but were somewhat disappointed. The springs themselves were cool and Washington's tub was quirky, but the park as a whole is not as grand as some reviews make it out to be.

It really feels much more like the small town park that it is, more than the state park it is billed as.

Nice place for a picnic or a quick stroll, but not really an attraction unto itself.

“its ok but I wouldn't make a special trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

The town is a little weird with some off-beat shops. It's cool to see the springs and water but really, not worth the trip.

“Some things never change!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

I've been coming here off and on for the last 30 years, and. even with the recent remodel, nothing has really changed. The masseurs, if not the originals, are their sons and daughters. The waters still have the same healing properties, and the atmosphere is totally relaxing. People have been coming here since forever and you should too! It is not a fancy spa, but a bit of history, and should not be missed.
