As a prior reviewer indicated, the name of this restaurant is now "Taste of India" and the ownership should attempt to correct this as it appears there may be some confusion from the name not being changed here and by reading other website reviews. I never dined at Aangan and I must say that Indian is not usually my cuisine of choice, but my daughter loves Indian and had dined here on a few other occasions, so we decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised with the food, atmosphere, and service. The garlic naan appetizer was the highlight of the meal and I would highly recommend it.
Our waiter was very attentive and friendly and appeared to be the only one working besides the kitchen staff as he was taking care of every table. We were the first ones in the restaurant for dinner and by the time we had finished our meals -- me, my wife, and our two daughters -- only four additional parties were dining. Beckley is not a huge place, but for a Friday evening, I would have thought more people would be dining there -- I suppose people in this area may be more attracted to the more mainstream restaurants in other parts of town.
The restaurant atmosphere was not stellar but was very good, sort of like a typical Chinese restaurant. If you like Indian cuisine or are interested in trying it for the first time, you should give this place a try.
