“An Excellent Value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

I was a travel agent, for 10 years, and believe this property is one of the best I've come along. No, it's not high end. Is is a very reasonably priced place to stay, in a mountainous area, with a lot to do nearby. My family has stayed there on 3 different occasions. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are clean & modern. There is even a continental breakfast that is limited but, for the awesome price, a bonus! It is in the midst of many restaurants, gas stations, etc. The scenic New River Gorge is very close, with abundant activities available. An excellent value!

We stayed at this hotel on our way through to Virginia Beach. You had to drive through the Dairy Queen drive thru lane to even get into it. Bathroom had hair on the floor and in sink, I take from a previous guest or housekeeper. Chair had much dust on the wood part. Chair also had large stain on fabric. Floor was so crooked the bathroom door would not shut. So much for privacy while you are in the bathroom. Price was o.k. but I guess you get what you pay for but we would rather have a clean room and pay a few dollars more. Water in jacucci very dirty. Will not stay again.

Room Tip: Was not a good night.

Not a bad place considering it is pet friendly. We stayed in the building with the lobby and the room seemed clean. Breakfast was just a few items but still I'm surprised they even served breakfast considering the rooms are pretty cheap. There isn't much room to walk a dog outside.
My only complains are the bed sheets were really crappy...they were thin a pilly and the bathroom is pretty small and the sink and mirror are in the room beside the bed. I would stay again..but only if I were traveling with my dog.

This is a very nice motel, clean, nice friendly staff, continental breakfast and a jacuzzi. We would stay here again and recommend it. Lots of places to eat within walking distance.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor. Outside covered balcony. No swimming pool or restaurant in the motel...

I have stayed at this hotel a few times, and I have always been satisfied with the value. Smaller rooms, but quiet. Comfortable bed, nice shower, and great service. Book quickly though: I tried to get a room on the return trip and it was full. I paid $30 more for a hotel across the street and was sorely disappointed.

My expectations were low for this motel and I was ultimately happy with the choice. I was traveling on a tight budget. My 5 night stay was comfortable here. Beds were very comfortable, sheets soft (that worn in kind of soft). I would give bathroom area cleanliness a 3 out of 5 but nothing was too bad to deal with, mostly just dated furnishings, tile, carpet, baseboard discolored, tub scratched and varnish worn. The free continental breakfast saved us $100 easily over the length of our stay. Staff friendly and helpful. I am a big supporter of leaving housekeeping a few dollars everyday and in doing so all extra requests were met.
(Biggest negatives: inconsistent shower temperature!!! and room slightly musty through the AC unit)

Bottom line, you'll save money in the long run for this motel. If you'd prefer something more modern and clean/new you can pay more somewhere else. We were visiting for the New River Gorge and found this town and all other attractions easy to navigate, activities plentiful, and the people outstanding and charming. Will be back!!

Room Tip: Rooms facing west will provide you with more privacy, as there is a DQ in front of the street facing...

Good for a night but you can spend $ 30 more and you will find way better than this motel.
Nice staff and quiet and convenient just off the highway.Overall I was suprised that this type of
motel does exist.
