“Nice Place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

Had a nice weekend stay. There are several new hotels in town, but we enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. Good beer at the bar. Kind of crowded for breakfast but the hotel was full so to be expected.

I am so happy to hear that you had a great time while staying with us. Our owner would appreciate your kind comments regarding the beer as he is a Hop farmer:) We hope to have you back for another fun weekend here in Yakima. Thank you for your great review!

Stayed here one night in September 2013. The room was sufficient in size, the bathroom was tiny. The bathroom door opens out and blocks all access to closet & main door to the room when open. The window curtains are mediocre for blocking outside light. Bed was hard as a rock, I noticed however they do offer rooms with adjustable firmness mattresses...next time. I followed a tip from another patron to bring your own pillow, so I did not try theirs.

Our room was on the second floor on the Yakima Ave side. Not a lot of traffic noise generally, but a few cars stopped at the nearby stoplight blasting 1,000 watt stereos with extra bass amplification, shakes your innards. Great bakery around the corner, Essentia, excellent cappuccino and baked goods for the road!

Breakfast was very good, but overly crowded on that Sunday morning when several parties were forced to take breakfast to their rooms. The waitstaff was attentive and pleasant. $12 per person buffet style with a chef for egg specialties. I had the very good french toast with all sorts of fruit toppings and rediwhip available. Also steel cut oatmeal with all sorts of toppings. Halfway decent coffee too!

Parking was not a problem, we got in late and scored the last spot in the above ground lot. There is an underground lot that we did not utilize.

Spacious lobby, lemon water & cookies provided on arrival, coffee and hot chocolate in the AM.

Room Tip: A room away from Yakima Ave might be more quiet.

I appreciate your time in reviewing your experience while staying with us at the Hilton Garden Inn Yakima. I am so sorry to hear that the bed was not comfortable for you during your visit. Our garden sleep system beds are equipped in all of our king rooms which may be more comfortable for you during your next visit. These beds consist of air baffles so that you are able to adjust the knob on each side of the bed to your comfort level. Also, in regards to the pillows, we have feather and synthetic pillows in all rooms so that you have a choice. They are actually quite comfortable and we can bring additional pillows if needed.
I am so happy to hear that all other aspects of your stay were satisfactory. I do appreciate your valuable feedback and hope to have you stay with us again soon!

Sincerely,

Lisa Vallejo

We came to Yakima for a wedding and stayed at the recommended hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn. It is easy to find and convenient to most areas. Rooms were clean, and the beds comfortable. Lobby was interesting, although they had tried to make it friendly and bright, had an odd effect of large curtains hiding the elevators and hallways. Used the underground parking garage since we had been warned of car prowlers in the area. Wouldn't do much good though as the gate to the underground parking area stayed up so long after we entered, anybody wanting to get in and raise trouble had plenty of time. We were lucky to get one of the last spots down there when we entered, as it obviously does not hold all the guests staying at the hotel.
Ate breakfast (not included in the room - $11.95 on Sunday) in the lobby restaurant before leaving town. Made to order eggs/omelettes, various meats, breads, rolls, waffles, yogurt, fruit etc. and attentive servers with coffee and juice. Easy to eat there and food was fresh and quick. Would recommend for someone needing accommodations in Yakima.

Room Tip: Had a room on the top floor (5th) facing Yakima Ave. and only heard road noise once. If sensitive...

I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to share your overall experience while staying with us. Thank you for your feedback regarding our parking garage and the gate delay. Due to the slope when entering the underground garage from the street the gate delay was set for those that may take their time in entering. The delay was to eliminate the gate from closing too quickly. We have since adjusted the time delay to ensure that there are no long periods with the gate staying open. I am thrilled that all other aspects of your stay were satisfactory and appreciate you taking the time to share with other travelers. We hope to have the opportunity to have you as our guest again during future visits to Yakima.

Very nice hotel in Yakima. Looks like a relatively new building. Our (standard) room was large and clean. Bathroom was spacious with a good quality shower. Most importantly, the bed was great. Internet is included. It was our first time in a Hilton Garden Inn, but certainly not our last. The price/quality is very good.

I've stayed here on numerous occasions for business and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Yakima. The staff is extremely friendly, the hotel is very clean and who doesn't like free cookies and lemonade in the lobby!?

My only minor complaint is that their wifi was very intermittent during my last stay and I believe it is due to an upgrade they're undergoing. Minor problem but I wanted to note it.

Also, definitely go for the Bed and Breakfast rate. It saves you a few dollars each day if you're going to have breakfast. ($8 included in the rate vs. $12 cash at the restaurant) They have a good selection and the cooked-to-order food is fresh and tasty.

First time staying here and was very impressed. The lobby was nicely decorated and that carried all the way through to the room. Everything is nice, clean and up scales. The staff was courteous and friendly. The breakfast buffet was fabulous. The only negative thing I had was the wall was very thin and we can hear the wake up call next door at 5:30 a.m.. Will definitely stay here again.
