“Great 2 day wine country adventure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

My wife and I recently were heading to Coeur d'Alene on business and decided to take a side trip to the Yakima Valley wine country, what a wonderful experience. We found the most delightful B&B in Yakima close to everything and run by a charming couple who were simply fantastic. From the time we arrived late Saturday and until our departure on Sunday it felt almost like home. Jim and Erika were just wonderful hosts and their establishment was immaculate. The only thing better than the accommodations were the morning breakfasts, oatmel and eggs the first day, a brie omlet the second with home made blue berry muffins and always a plate of fruit, cheeses and meats. Who could have asked for more. We spent the nights on the patio out back sipping our daily purchases and just marveling about how peaceful our day had been. We had such a great time we contemplated skipping our trip to Coeur d'Alene. Thank you for a great mini vacation Jim and Erika.

“Truly a Touch of Europe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

We so enjoyed our twenty four hour stay here. The stately home is furnished with beautiful (yet comfortable) antiques and surrounded by a yard that feels like a private park. In making our reservation we opted to have dinner, at first hesitating to order the duck, but deciding to go for it after reading about chef Erika. It was exquisitely prepared and beautifully presented. The entire meal was thoughtfully balanced and delicious. After dinner, at our request, we toured the kitchen and enjoyed a lovely visit with these two delightful Innkeepers. Jim and Erika made us feel like family, sending us off with breakfast leftovers for a delightful picnic lunch and a customized tour of Yakima.

“very disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

We were greeted with a less than warm welcome. Jim did not seem to know we were a party of 2 couples, even though we reserved 2 rooms. After some fussing around he said he had rooms. We actually were the only guests the 2 nights we were there.
Breakfast was interesting, but heavy and not appealing to our tastes.Too much of a mixture.
The room was tired, seemed dirty and the bed was very uncomfortable. We both had backaches in the morning. Air quality was bad. On one occasion Jim was unhappy about some minor thing and was very rude to me.
He was getting ready to show the property and seemed to be more concerned about that than his guests.
The grounds are nice and the look of the home is lovely from the exterior. It definitely is not a place I would recommend nor return to.

Clearly this review mischaracterizes our conduct toward greeting guests; our breakfasts, and all other aspects of our beautiful home and business. It is unfortunate the Snoqualmie guests viewed their stay as a disappointment. Of course I acted surprised when two couples arrived, here is why: Two rooms were booked during April 2012 for mid-May 2012. At the time of booking, it was mentioned that friends may be joining the guest who made reservations and possibly have dinner. No further mention of dinner from this point on. Subsequently, guest called at least three times to either add/cancel a couple – next to the most recent call he said that his friends could not make it and decided to bring them back in the Fall and only needed one room. A call was also received ahead of the first night of stay again saying that the other couple couldn’t make it. Resultantly, I changed their stay to one room. Unfortunately confusion about their stay wasn’t made clear about a third couple until two couples arrived on the day of stay. Fussing was misconstrued as needing to clear up in my mind what went wrong, also surprised and concerned, that there could’ve been a problem if we had booked someone else for the second room. Fortunately the second room was still available and these two couples travelling together were helped with their luggage, escorted to their rooms, orientated and provided a fresh fruit basket, chocolates and bottled water, as usual.
About the minor thing: It is extremely unusual that any guest would remove to use pillows from another bedroom without first asking us for anything extra. Four pillows, plus two pillow shams are custom furnishing in each room has always been enough for everyone else who’ve ever stayed here. I don’t regard it rude when guest was asked to return a pillow brought down to the dining room to an unoccupied room from which it was taken. Both couples were courteously shown such bedroom during the orientation and informed that it was set up for show only-not for use. Removing items from another bedroom certainly is not a pattern our B&B guests would ever initiate without first asking.
Breakfast is designed to provide choices and be bountiful enough to satisfy varying appetites. For example: Choose, or not choose from the platter that could contain local, sliced sausages, local-seasonal fruits, imported cheeses, Norwegian lox (salmon) or other selections the second breakfast morning. Also, included could be a basket of homemade popovers; French brie-fresh chives egg omelet; Turmeric oatmeal topped with homemade ginger cream-Bing cherry sauce; Russian blinis (buckwheat pancakes), orange juice, coffee/tea and water, to mention a few examples spread over a two nights stay. Breakfast is different when staying more than one night. It is a personal choice to eat all, part of it, or take out leftovers for a picnic lunch at one of the many wineries like some guests choose to do.
Our “un-tired” home is in pristine condition inside and out. Without elaborating, the wall covering in rooms are imported from UK and Italy, Bradbury-Bradbury (museum quality) wall covering in library, tiled and wood floors, furnishings throughout are showroom condition, imported lace curtains, mattresses are orthopedic for example, and no one else has ever complained about any level of discomfort. Guests love the rooms, the décor and praise efforts we’ve applied to the whole house décor, including the house/property appraiser - we’re comfortable with that and the way it is. We automatically upgrade as we see fit.
“Seemed” dirty? This remark is disgusting, offensive, unjustified and out of line, to even assume dirtiness. Rooms and bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned after check-out. Typically, even fresh towels replace used ones when guests stay beyond one night, just one case in point. Guests typically are amazed at how clean and well maintained our home and property is. We're also dissappointed.

“Charming place, gracious hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely ambience and the food was over the top. Breakfast each morning was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. We didn't need to eat lunch, we were so full! Jim was very accommodating and extremely gracious. The room and bath were comfortable, beautiful and spotless. Wonderful place to stay.

Room Tip: The front room faces the street and there is street noise.

“Beautiful and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2011

This Bed and Breakfast has been restored and is in Pristine condition.
Not only are the private rooms (and bathrooms) comfortable, but the airconditioing in our room made our stay even more pleasant.
There's a wonderful chef who owns and runs the place so not only do you get a divine breakfast but also an optional gourmet dinner for a reasonable fee. We chose Lamb and it was excellent.
This B and B is located right near downtown Yakima which was very convenient when wine tasting in the area.

Room Tip: Since there are only 2 guest suites available, book early. We stayed in the Gold room which was roo...
