I've enjoyed the property on many occasions and would recommend it if cleanliness and value are your top priorities.
The location is handy to downtown businesses & restaurants. I also enjoy the river walk just outside to the doors of the property.

We stayed here after seeing a concert at the Gorge Amphitheater, and didn't want to drive all the way back to Vancouver WA. All we wanted was a clean place to sleep, as we didn't get back to the hotel after check in until one am, and had to be on the road in the morning by ten am. But it was a wonderful room, and we wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms look out on a river, and with the sliding door open, you can hear it and it will soothe you to sleep. There is a micro and a mini fridge for snackage. The free breakfast wasn't outstanding, but a nice perk. Cook yourself waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal and juices to start your day. If I am ever in the area again, I will make a point to stay here.

If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, then don't go to Yakima, first of all. But if you are choosing between the available hotels in the area, you should stay here. There is a small but "real" outdoor pool under the trees, kept very clean and cool on a hot day. It is right on the river, every room. We had a room that faced a tree on the second floor, for added privacy, but you could still see the river, feel the breeze; and it was quiet, clean, and the staff is incredibly nice and friendly and generous. They let us keep our bikes in their office over night and during the day after we went for a ride along the Yakima Greenway (also recommend!). There is a fridge and microwave in the room and though we don't eat most of the stuff in the breakfast "buffet," you can make a meal out of fruit and hard boiled eggs alone. You don't stay there for the views of the Walmart or the car dealerships across the highway. Go into it knowing what it is and you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room first

I recently traveled to Yakima with a bunch of motorcycle buddies (our trip to Winthrop was canceled because of the forest fires). Oxford Inn welcomed our group and our motorcycles fairly last minute and also offered us a group rate. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Oxford Inn and each came a way very rested after a great night of sleep. The reservation process and check-in was easy and the staff very friendly. This location is walk-able to downtown but only if you are in the mood for exercise -otherwise its a $10 cab ride. Fantastic restaurants to choose from - on the advice of the hotel we ate at the "2nd Street Grill." Awesome food and great selection of beer. A side note - make time to stop in at "Bale Breaker" for a pint (just google it) - you won't be sorry. We are already looking forward to visiting Yakima next year and will definitely be staying at the Oxford Inn.

Room Tip: Best rooms are anywhere near the pool - otherwise they all have a great view of the river but you ma...

Very quiet ,enjoyable stay.Enjoyed the spa and then fell asleep listening to the river. Rooms were clean. Staff friendly and helpful. We all took a long walk along the river path in the morning sunshine.

This hotel, while a little on the old side, has a great location overlooking the river and adjoining a Mexican restaurant which we ate at both times we stayed.
Comfortable beds, good air conditioning - my only complaint was with the shower in the ADA king room. Awkward and hard to use, as it kept slipping. I would have preferred a standard tub shower combo
The staff is lovely, very helpful and professional.
