“We'll try somewhere else next time.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2011

I wrote to the Oxford Inn and SUITES to see if they would honor the state per diem rate. They said they would. We were very happy and excited since this is were we wanted to stay. Upon our arrival, we found out that they put us in the Oxford Inn, a totally different building next door. Not nearly as nice with out a lot of the amenities. Not only was I disappointed, but that made me look pretty bad since I was traveling with my Boss...
I will say that the hotel, although quite older, was very clean. Nice view of the river too. No restaurant, but you can walk to Burger King and a Mexican food place. However, there are a lot of hotels to choose from that I feel could a better value...just my opinion.

We went wine tasting in the surrounding area and needed a place that allowed dogs. The rooms were reasonably priced, very clean , and had a view of the river. We stayed on the 4th floor, great view. If you stay on the ground floor, it opens to grass, and then a walking/running path that goes along the river. Pretty nice treat to be able to run your dog in the morning along the water. Highly recommended for dog owners, walkers, or runners!

I would give 5 stars for service but the evening front desk clerk had the personality of a zombie. Everyone else was friendly and helpful. I think that for $85 we got more than we should expect. Clean room & attractive lobby, comfy beds, fridge & microwave, small continental breakfast, and a great view from the balcony. Great food at the Mexican restaurant next door too. The only HUGE downside was that my husbands car was broke in to (it was parked in front of the hotel in a well-lighted spot within view of the front desk) and the police said this hotel has the worst record of car break-ins due to its proximity to the bike path. SO, DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR CAR!

Stay here each time I am in Yakima. The location is great, excellent for walking my dog along the river, Mexican restaurant next door is a nice place to eat and has easy access to the main highway.

Stayed here for two nights over Thanksgiving. Very comfortable room (with refrigerator and microwave) and location was perfect. This hotel has a seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub. Also, the breakfast is quite good with waffles and biscuits and gravy plus the usual's (cereal, toast, juice and coffee). All in all it was a good stay and good value. Would stay here again if in the area.

All rooms have a lanai overlooking the Yakima River with only a walking path separating the hotel from the river. The natural scene included many birds and even a deer. The room was ordinary but comfortable, the furnishings a little tired. The Mexican restaurant & bar next door was very good. The included breakfast was not.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. Many of our guests love the river trail outside our back door, along with the tranquility of a river view from their room. You may want to consider the Oxford Suites Yakima, next door, on your next visit if you prefer a complimentary full hot breakfast buffet and evening reception, in addition to larger rooms. We value your feedback and we will review the areas of concern mentioned. Thanks again for commenting.

Our room was $70 with a military discount. It still would've been an excellent value even if we paid the full ($85) amount.

For that price I've never even stayed in a hotel that was clean much less have all of the following: excellent continental breakfast, comfortable beds, fridge and microwave in the room, extremely friendly staff, a hot tub overlooking the river and free WiFi to top it all off!

What else could you possibly ask for? I'll be looking for this chain wherever I travel from now on.
