“Needs some work”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2012

We bought a Groupon for this place - great deal but wouldn't go again. Westport is a nice little place but this Inn needs alot of work. Walls are very thin, we could hear the conversation going on in the next room. I could feel the wind coming in through the door - we had to stuff a towel in it to keep the breeze out.

Hotel is clean, service fine and care is clearly taken in the property overall. Location is central and views from the shared deck are wonderful!
However, our stay was a disapointment. We had a groupon and upgraded to a king suite for $20/night. If we had been paying full price for the room we would have left.
There was severe wear and tear throughout the room and mold in the shower. Efforts at painting touch-ups were performed with a different color paint leaving an under construction feel to the place. The layout of the sitting room was awkward at best and not pleasant to hang out in. The couch and chair were stained and worn out. The advertised fire place was a portable electric heater with faux flames behind a plastic front - this I consider seriously faulty advertising and would strongly suggest a revision on the website.
There was a helpful binder in the room with good local information and the wine glasses and bottle opener were a nice touch.
Overall we'd stay again at groupon prices (because we have family in town) and would just know what to expect next time. From the reviews on here and their website and the prices we expected something much more up-to-date.

Westport is a wonderful, little fishing village on the Washington coast. Westport Inn is an older hotel right in the middle of town. Restaurants, the harbor, beach trails, and the observation tower are all within walking distance, easy walking. The Inn itself is older but very well maintained and clean. The owners and the staff were all outstanding. Despite the wind and the rain, we enjoyed it very much. We just put on our raincoats, pulled up the hoods and went walking anyway. It was very refreshing. We would like to go again when it is warmer. The town is very quiet and uncrowded in April when we were there but I can imagine it being very busy in summer. There are several large paking lots for tourists.

Room Tip: There is no elevator but upstairs rooms have the views of the channel that you won't see at grou...

Many of the rooms are probably fine, but we ended up in the room under the stairs, which was very loud. People stomped up and down the until after midnight and started again at 5 am. We were also next to the office, so every time someone left the office, the connecting (closed off) door in our room would rattle. Our view was of the stairs, so we kept the curtains drawn to keep people from looking in. The front door to the room only had about an inch clearance from the bed, so it was a pain to get in and out of the room with luggage. Of the two beds, one was hard and the other extremely soft to the point that it seemed to be broken. We ended up going home a day early even though we'd already paid for the 2 night Groupon. It wasn't worth the second night stay. We were even disappointed that the espresso shop where we were supposed to get 2 free espressos was closed when we left town around 9:30 the next morning.

A different room might be okay. The hotel was very clean. The refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker were nice. We enjoyed the bottle of wine. The short walk to the beach was also nice, although the beach wasn't that great. Since this was a 6 hour drive for us, we'll go to the Oregon Coast next time.

Room Tip: Make sure you are NOT under the stairs. If that is the only room available, choose a different hotel...

We come to Westport quite often but we typically camp. Like many of the reviewers, we were lured by the Groupon. We were pleased with the cleanliness of the room and it's amenities. The bathroom was not all up to date but the other part of the room was. The bed was rather uncomfortable which is a real bummer. We would probably come back for a single night stay but because of the bed it woul not be a multiple night stay. The TV is small and outdated.

Well kept little Inn, very close to halfmoon bay and the harbor. Great place for the family or a solo surf trip, even a relaxing getaway with you and your spouse. Clean rooms, with nice little perks from local business owners (ours had bottle of wine and a couple free espresso drinks). Property owner cares about guests and it shows. Fresh baked cookies each evening for the guests available down in the office. This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel/resort, but a wonderful little comfortable inn. I would certainly recommend visiting the Westport Inn.

Room Tip: Second and third floor rooms will give you ocean views.
