“A little dated but family friendly and clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

As the title says the property is a little dated, but the rooms and property were very clean... the staff friendly ... the pool great for kids ... and the breakfast makes it a perfect fit for families with hungry mouths to feed in the morning (eggs, sausage, toast, danishes, juice and of course waffles). Just wish the rooms and corridors were updated and "brighter" looking (and maybe the air conditioners a little 'quieter').

Hello. I stay at many hotels around the state, for business. Most hotels are clean and provide good service. The Wenatchee Best Western has the added benefit of its staff being friendly in a manner you get in smaller towns. There is a "Hometown" feel to the way they welcome and treat you. I have enjoyed this hotel for a few years now, and I stay there 5 weeks a year. Thank you.

We were treated very well and would stay here again. We have stayed at the Best Western Chieftan on all of our trips to Wenatchee. The rooms are very clean and they make all possible effort to put you on the floor that best meets your needs.

I agree with the other reviewers this property is dated. So what we would stay here again. The hotel was very clean and well maintained, staff friendly and professional, breakfast good, etc. I have no problem getting a discount on a room whose biggest flaw is the dark wood work and dated bathrooms. For my allergy suffering family, we especially like their no smoking or pets policy. Great job staff!

We were happy to stay once again at the Chieftain. It has all that we required in terms of amenities, cleanliness and size of room and so on.We found the noise from the trains that passed by somewha annoying but eventually we became used to it and slept well.

We had to make a sudden trip to Wenatchee - we knew the property from a previous stay a few years ago. Still a good option, but in need of some TLC.
We had reserved a king room, and when we checked in the only option was a handicap room
with only a roll in shower, no tub - this was not what we had requested, and phoned to confirm in
advance. We were switched to a double queen because that was all that was available.

The air conditioner in our room, and that of others in our party, blows right on the 2nd bed next
to the wall - given the hot weather it was necessary to keep the air on at night, so anyone in that
outside bed was plenty cool!

For our next trip to the area we will likely try another option - there are plenty to chose from.

Dear Travelers:

I stayed at the BW Chieftain on July 24, 2013, with my family en route to Bellingham, WA. We stayed in a room with two double beds.

The room was clean and decently appointed and on the second floor. The beds were comfortable. It was about 100 deg F outside, but the A/C did an adequate job and we were comfortable all night. There was a flat screen TV, small refrigerator, and a Keurig coffee maker in the room. All worked well, and we especially enjoyed the Keurig coffee in the morning. As a matter of fact, we liked it so we, we went down to the front desk and they happily gave us more refills.

As far as breakfast goes, we were very pleased with the offerings. There were scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, waffles, juice, coffee, good assortment of teas, fruit, etc. I found it on par with what you would get for breakfast at a Hampton Inn, or better. The dining area is small, but well maintained and clean. There is an outdoor pool, but we didn't have time for a dip.

I really liked the gals working the front desk. They helped us with directions for driving and also getting my BW gift travel card to work, as there was a slight glitch. Also, we had a slight problem with the TV because one of the plugs had come loose, and they came to our room right away to fix it when we first arrived.

All in all, this hotel is a good value. It is a bit dated, but I'm sure the rates at the more modern appointed hotels nearby are significantly more. The only downside I experienced was the 6 am early risers, who let their room doors slam when they leave and wake everyone else up. Seems to be a universal problem for us late risers!

Room Tip: Take a room on the second floor. Better towards the front of the hotel.
