“Typical Red Lion, time for an update”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2011

Stayed here for one night with my family. This was our second stay at this property and it was a very similar experience. Let me say that I am a fan of the Red Lion brand and that this property is like most others. ALL RED LIONS including this one are getting tired and need to be upgraded. Time for new HVAC, carpets, furniture, drapes, windows, Flat screen TV etc.

With that being said this is not a knock on this property. I was able to secure an executive suite for my family in advance. This room was very large and fit our needs. Large and comfortable King bed in one room with large bathroom and Jacuzzi tub/shower. OLD SCHOOL wood french doors separate the bedroom from the sitting room. The sitting room has a wet bar, good size mini fridge, pull out coach, and two sitting chairs. We fit a roll-a-way in our room without problems and had our kids on the pull out coach and roll-a-way.

The property was not busy while we were there and were not bothered by closing doors, or noise. As noted above the HVAC is awful. In order to get the fan on you have to turn on the thermostat and whind a 1970's fan knob, which resulted in engine turbine sounds from the fan. NOT good and not comfortable to sleep with. Our room got pretty cold without the fans running.

As mentioned in other reviews the staff that work here were great. Very friendly and prompt at addressing concerns. We needed more bedding for the pull out sofa and it was delivered in a timely manner.

I only give 3 stars as I"m not sure I would stay again with the aging of this property. Compliments to the general manager and staff for doing the best with what they have to work with. This is a serviceable property that you can stay at comfortably and safely.......I guess my family is just becoming hotel snobs and are not willing to deal with loud HVAC systems and old non updated rooms. Too each their own.

Room Tip: If they have upgraded rooms ask for them...not sure if they do....

The hotel definitely shows it age. I think it is about 30-40 years old and needs a major makeover. Breakfast is not in a buffet style as expected. We did not eat at the Roaring Start restaurant because it was empty.
Free Wifi is a plus but it is very slow. The elevator is at the end of the corridor, 300 meters from the reception.
The room is clean. The washroom door is mounted with a mirror which is cracked. The location is very central in this small town but it us right next to a stripe mall.

1. Staff is very friendly.

2. Our 2 queen-bed room is clean, quiet, and spacious.

3. Bed is comfortable.

4. There are 2 sinks. One is inside the clean and spacious bathroom, and the other is outside the bathroom. Good design!

5. This one is definitely 3 star. We are glad to stay here for our Xmas Eve!

We were in Leavenworth for the Christmas Lighting Ceremony and decided to stay at the Red Lion in Wenatchee. It was a wonderful decision.

We were greeted immediately by the friendly front desk assistant. She offered to help us find a room close to an exit door since we were traveling with a dog and would need to have to make frequent trips outside. She went out of her way to make sure our room was as close to an exit as possible, without us even having to ask.

In the morning, we went down to the cafe to get some hot chocolate for my daughter and was greeted by another friendly person. The hostess not only helped us with our request, she even offered to go to the kitchen to look for marshmallows for the hot chocolate! You don't usually get service like that any more.

We usually try to stay at a Red Lion when we travel because they are clean, safe and are staffed with friendly people. This hotel is just another exple of why we stay with Red Lion. We will certainly be back!

We stayed here and were very pleased with the attentive and friendly person who greeted us behind the desk. We got a true sense that family is very important to this staff, and guests, as well as staff, are cared for and appreciated. Accomodations were wonderful. The good, hot breakfast was extensive. The attendant even went out of her way to provide something an item that was not included when my husband asked for it. We'd definitely stay here again.

I *used* to stay at Red Lion hotels when I first started traveling into the area. I moved away from them some years ago. The location of this one is perfect for my needs on business, and so I gave them a try last month ... and then I went back 2 weeks later ... and I will continue to use this hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful - the rooms are exactly what I want - the hotel is quiet - I just like it.

Did our annual Apple trip for 2011, decided to stay at a different hotel this time, closer to town. Red Lion hotel property is alittle old, but was both comfortable and clean. Even had a nice drink and lively fun guest as we watched football on the Lounge screen. Made for a great time for the weekend. Buffet in the morning was good and great price (under $5). Will definately stay again in the future. Accepted our two little service dogs with no problem.
