“Excellent hotel, for short retreat or business meeting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012 via mobile

Stayed there for three days for a business meeting, but will certainly return privately.
Great location, amazing scenery and a wide variety of activities. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, the dining is good and the patio at the back of the hotel is a fabulous spot for a pre- or after dinner drink

HI Dbaerts, Thank you for the review. Sounds like you had a great business meeting. We are honored to host so many business events. It is especially pleasant when a meeting guest becomes a part of the Alderbrook family by coming on their own or with family. Be well. Until next time...~Frank for Alderbrook Resort

My husband and I come here every year for our anniversary and avail ourselves of almost every available offering. The spa is wonderful, very relaxing and a great staff. The pool and hot spa are a great way to both relax and get in some exercise. The restaurant and bar have beautiful views and delicious food and if you choose room service, you get the same high-quality fare and service.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the cabins are great if you want more privacy or if you need more room for extra people.
I highly recommend Alderbrook to anyone looking for that special getaway!

Alderbrook was the perfect place to stay on our way to Orcas Island as it was in the middle of our drive. We have tried many places and have found the one that will be our mid-destination. But, not only would it be our mid-destination it will now be A destination. The grounds are spectacular. There are fireplaces and outside seating scattered about. There is a large, enclosed in a glass house, swimming pool that is sparkling crystal blue that sits right on the edge of the water and a separate hot tub. The rooms are muted earth colors and have cherry tables, cabinets and armoirs. There are large windows, high ceilings and a built-in window seat, several chairs, ottoman and makeup area. The best news is....DOG FRIENDLY. And you don't get a room in the back with no view and questionable cleanliness....it was right on the courtyard so we could just walk out the door to do our business and we had a lovely view of the sound. There are doggie pickup bags everywhere and trash cans for disposal...YEAH. They supplied our dog with a doggie bed and doggie bowls. The only drawback for us was that there was no microwave but one could be rented for a steep price. Going to Alderbrook in the Fall is great, it is so quiet. I believe that it must be quite the destination in the summer for the kids and for golf, that is why we chose the off season. The best rates start in October if you are a retired traveler and the do give AARP discount when requested. Doggie fee is $30 per night. It is not on the beaten path but well worth the little jog off main roads for the peace and quiet.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms have a view of the sound. The rooms and cottages that have creek view would be th...

A very nice resort. We won a free night's stay otherwise we would not be able to afford the price of the room. The food in the restaurant was good again a bit pricey. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend a stay here if price is no object!

There are many things to like about the Alderbrook Resort. The resort is right on the Hood Canal with lots of beach access. There are kayaks to rent or you can cruise the canal on the Lady Alderbrook. The indoor pool is huge, and is bright and cheery. We had a room with 2 queen beds in the lodge. It was on the smaller side, but still large enough for two adults and two kids. One of the kids was able to sleep on the large window seat. Our room also had a balcony with a lovely view of the water. There was a huge soaking tub in the bathroom. The walls were somewhat thin and we were able to hear our neighbors on more than one occasion. The lobby had lots of comfortable seating with a huge fireplace. Our children enjoyed access to the DVD library and the chess board in the lobby, but by far their favorite thing (aside from the pool) was petting the resort's resident cats, Alder and Brook. My only complaint has to do with food. It was way over priced. There was a main restaurant as well as a "patio" that is open seasonally. Twice we ordered room service from the main restaurant. Delivery was prompt, but the food was too expensive for what it was. (The room service prices were the same as the restaurant prices.) We ordered lunch on the patio once. While the prices were slightly more reasonable (particularly the kids' meals) the service left something to be desired. After waiting forty minutes for our food, we were forced to gulp down our meal in order to make it to our cruise on the Lady Alderbrook. It's as if the resort knows that there really aren't any other great dining options in the area so they're free to charge whatever they wish for mediocre food and mediocre service. If they could address this one issue, they would easily earn 5 starts from me.

I had the pleasure of staying at Alderbrook which represents all the goodness of the pacific northwest. From my balcony, I enjoyed my morning coffee with a beautiful view of the ocean while listening to a waterfall in the lodge hotel garden area.

The hotel has a craftsman design with large fireplace in the lobby and lots of cozy seating. It is surrounded by walking trails and has a great open fire pit. There are about 10 private cottages adjacent to the main facility that is fully furnished with a nice lounge, resturant, spa, and in door swimming and workout center. A golf course is across the road.Bikes and sea kayaks are available.

The rooms are large and attractively decorated. Beds are comfortable with lots of soft pillows. I left relaxed after soaking in some sun and fresh air in a beautiful surrounding. The staff was great and went out of their way to be helpful. Great quick trip!

My daughter got married at Alderbrook in August and It was beautiful. The staff at Alderbrook was exceptional and were instrumental in helping to create a wonderful wedding and celebration.
Everything went smoothly and the staff handled everything with a "no problem, we can handle that" attitude. Amy and Amber were incredible with all of their help and Justin did a superb job with all of the food. I heard many comments about how great the food was! I was very pleased with everything at Alderbrook.
