“don't stay there”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

I read other reviews and booked for 4 day stay, 2 months prior to our visit(9/19/2013). I lived in the methow many years ago was back for a short visit. When we got to the motel around 5:30,the room had not been cleaned yet. The owner was not there and his assistant was not there. Some guy with the keys to the motel told me he had no idea what was going on and did not know when anyone would be back. He asked a woman to clean the room .I went to look at it, and it was FILTHY and stunk to high heaven.I told him not to bother we we not doing to stay there. His comment was"I don't blame you" I don't know what happened to this motel since the other reviews were written, but we sure had a differant experance.

Saw some good reviews and decided to give it a try. Room was clean and had a nice bathroom. Flat screen TV on the wall facing the bed. There was also a small table and chair in the corner.
Just spent one night and would stay again. Not fancy but better than expected.

The rooms are about 12x12 but clean. Bathroom looks newly remodeled. When we arrived Office said look in trailer in back and gave a cell phone number. Nether produced results. A handy man that works there called, tried to find the booking info and worked at finding the owner. Eventually did and for double occupancy (one queen and one single) at $50. tax included this is a steal. Our microwave was full size, our fridge was 6-8 cubic feet and the TV had no remote so the owner immediately brought in a flat screen and hooked it up for us. He asked if we wanted a coffee pot in the morning and we did, and produced it. Next morning there was new coffee supplied on the table by the door. This is a nice place although not brand new for the money it's great!

Room Tip: 1-8? with 8 being farthest from highway 9-15 with 9 being farthest from highway.

The Blue Spruce was reccomended by a gas station attendent, we had no reservations but phoned and they had only 2 rooms left. We found the rooms modern with free internet and ameneties such as coffee, soaps, shampoo and flat screen tv. The room was spotless clean, out of 4 motels stayed in on this trip the Blue Spruce was most affordable and offered the best service in 5 counties. Thank You Blue Spruce and Kids.

Room Tip: Kitchenetts are nice.

The Blue Spruce Motel is the kind of place we seek when we’re on the road: basic, clean, and a great value.

This is an older motel so the rooms are fairly small. However, the space is well used and the amenities perfect for us. Our room had two double beds, an older model television, a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a coffeemaker. There was no chair or desk. The coffeemaker was a standard household size and the motel provided coffee, tea bags, hot chocolate mix, and hot apple cider mix.

The bathroom was small but updated well. We usually travel as a family of three and have to ask for an extra set of towels in the office, but The Blue Spruce provided four sets of fluffy towels. The shower curtain was new and the bathroom was very clean.

The rooms are 100% non-smoking but the owners smoke in their home attached to the motel lobby. It appears that smoking is allowed outside the motel rooms; luckily we did not have any smokers staying near our room.

When I asked about a late arrival, the owner said she’d wait up for us. We arrived shortly after the 10 pm lobby closing time, but she came out in her robe and quickly checked us in.

We’ll definitely stay at The Blue Spruce Motel next time we are in the area.

To be honest, if driving by we never would have stopped here; however, it was a sold-out weekend in the valley so ended up making reservations here. It's a little 50s-style hotel, but we were most pleasantly surprised. First of all, the manager was a delightful woman who went out of her way to make sure our stay was good. She even gave us better rooms than originally booked ... and for a great price. And I have to say, the towels were the nicest I've seen in a long time -- thick, softy fluffy-- and I've stayed in some great hotels. There was also real toilet paper ... not the stuff one normally finds. There were even amenities like lotion & shampoo. The room was clean and basically furnished. We had an adjoining room with our cousins. They got the "parents" room with a king bed and a full kitchen. If looking for a clean place that is a good value, this is a decent place. The only drawback is the bed was right up against the wall so it was a challenge to get out in the middle of the night. Noticed that there was a grill in the back green area -- probably for guests to use.
