“Excellent place to stay.......”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2006

It was clean, very comfy beds, wonderful continental breakfast that got you started for the day. Fresh fruit, coffee, juice, danishes, toast, bagels, eggs, sausages (these vary each day) etc..... Nice grounds and easy access and not hard to find. I have stayed at Hamptons before and always have good luck. Didnt let me down this time either. Price was great too! Didnt bring laptop but they did have wireless and they give you a lap table for your laptop. Stayed Friday April 28-29/2006.

Fortunately I read reviews before booking and they didn't let me down. Comfortable room, pretty comfortable bed, good location. Above average breakfast. Perfect for the price.

The wife and I stayed here on Good Friday and Saturday. It was what we come to expect from Hampton Inn, clean, quite, helpful staff. It is a bit out of the way to downtown Seattle but if you can read street signs this place is for you!! Breakfast was good, not great, but good!! At 76.00 a night a great get away. Will stay here again!

This was the perfect hotel for our girls semi-annual shopping getaway, as these are all about me, me, me.....and well deserved!!! Convenient to shopping and restaurants. Room 321 was quiet, (heating unit is like white noise) lovely bedding, three pillows on each bed, and four big thick towels, etc for the two of us. The closet was in an armoire. Not good if you have wet coats, or want to steam out some wrinkles, as the hangers aren't removable. We did not have a fridge or microwave, and really didn't need one. The in-room coffee maker was all we needed while we took turns in the shower and then went for the complimentary breakfast. Incredible - hot egg patty, saussage patty (biscuits and gravy another day), apples, bananas, oranges, cut up fresh fruit salad with melons, pineapple, grapes, bakery selections, yogart, coffee and tea selections (good coffee too! with lids for on the go), hot and cold cereals, lots of space to move and a lovely sitting area with huge windows. My children would have loved it, but would not have been happy that the outdoor pool was not in use at this time of year. The AAA rate was $80.10, which was fantastic for this area, a well above average hotel. The only complaint I have, is that with two female shoppers, there was no vanity outside the bathroom. Eventually I discovered a plug in hidden by the luggage area that was a bit of a challenge to pull out as it was on the heavy side, and all was well as I could blow my hair dry by a mirror. Usually I pack a hanger in my suitcase, and probably should start adding an extension cord and airfreshner, as I often encounter no plugs by mirrors or bathroom fans. We didn't use it, but the free internet access would have been convenient to let our families back home know we were safe and well, rather than phoning (cuts into shopping time!) This would be my first hotel choice for the Seattle area. Just wish there was a Hampton at our other shopping desitnations!!!! The room was as nice as any high end hotels I have stayed in. I would happily stay here for a couple getaway, and when the pool is in season with the children.

Hampton Inn is a good hotel chain in the Hilton family, a couple of big steps up from a basic motel. This hotel is fine in all respects. The rooms appear fairly recently renovated. Price averages just shy of $100 for weekdays during prime business weeks. This is a traditional hotel setup with room entry via interior hallways. There are four stories with access via two elevators. There's only two stairways for emergency exit usage.

Location:
The hotel is very conveniently located within 10 minutes' drive of Seatac airport near the intersection of two highways. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus service. There are several choices of hotels along this road along with a gas station, 7-Eleven, and a few fast food joints. Nearby Southcenter Mall is a 10 minute drive away, and numerous shops and restaurants are located there.

Room Amenities:

The room is average size, and accommodations are fresh with decorations pleasing to the eye in light wood tones with light-toned wallpaper.. The room smells fresh with no latent carpet cleaning chemicals.

The room includes a mini fridge/microwave, coffemaker, desk, lapdesk (very handy for using the laptop PC while sitting in bed), one single-line phone (no speaker phone), TV/remote, couch (not a sleeper).

The number of TV channels is much greater than either the Embassy Suites or Homewood Suites, where I usually found it difficult to find something I wanted to watch. The Hampton Inn does not have the pay-per-view selections of those other hotels, however.

Room lighting is via conventional incandescent light bulbs, not the typical energy saving fluorescents found in most hotels these days.

Garment hangers are the annoying "security" style with nonstandard hooks to discourage theft.

The bathroom tile looks excellent with no mold and a fiberglass tub surround. The bath mirror has two angled side panels so you can see yourself very well. There's a wall-mounted hair dryer and a full-length mirror on the door.

Free wireless-only internet access is provided throughout the hotel including rooms and lobby areas - nice. (The Embassy Suites down the block charges 50% more for their rooms, yet charges $10/day extra for internet access).

The heating/cooling unit is not overly desirable since it is the noisy window unit common to hotels of this and lower classes.

Bed linens, carpeting, wallpaper, and towels are all in good shape.

Noise factors include the highway (this is the closest hotel to the highway), and a train track that runs behind the hotel. Requesting a quiet room is advised. My room was in the front facing away from the train but toward the highway; I think these might be the quietest rooms. Airport noise doesn't seem to be significant at all in this location. The room walls appear to be concrete, not drywall.

Hotel room windows do not open for ventilation.

Hotel Amenities:

Fitness center - (limited access not 24 hr - closes at 10pm so they say). Equipment includes one treadmill, one stepper, one exercise bike, universal gym. Ventilation in this room is not great. It would be better if the window could be opened in this room.

Outside pool - open during the warm months. The pool area is in the front corner of the hotel facing the highway.

Laundry facility - consists of one washer/dryer stuck in a room the size of a closet on the 3rd floor room area, with limited access 9am-9pm.

Lobby - snack area is very pleasant, well lit, and fresh. Cookies are available each evening, and a continental breakfast with a few extra items is included. Coffee and tea are available anytime.

Overall - A nice hotel for the business traveler, especially if the budget doesn't allow staying at a deluxe hotel. This would also be suitable for the personal traveler for those who prefer a nicer hotel than those common cheap motels on the freeway.

I stayed at this Hampton Inn recently for business travel. I have stayed at Hampton hotels before and never have I been dissatisfied. Never.
The breakfast was outstanding and the level of service the staff provides is great.

I stayed with my husband here for the weekend, celebrating our anniversary. We loved the Seattle area and this hotel was great. The room was clean and there was a gift basket in the room waiting for us from the manager.
I really liked the hot breakfast buffet in the morning and we overall were treated well.
