I waited a few days to write this review because I needed to find the words to describe the experience.
We stayed one night at CHM for our combined birthday week-end for my fiancé' and I.
Breathtaking describes the beautiful views and the entire facility. Being from this area and traversing the highway numerous times, until we stayed at CHM I never appreciated the beauty of the landscape, and where CHM is located, the views are stunning.
Exquisite yet tasteful and warm describes the interior décor of the public areas. Once you arrive, you feel welcome and at home. It just has that an aura that you feel comfortable in.
Decadent best describes the room. We stayed in the German room and it was over the top. From the very comfy king bed, jetted tub, walk in shower, small loft, balcony overlooking the orchards. The fresh red rose on the bed with a hand written welcome note, plush robes and towels, chocolates everything was wonderful.
Fun is something to be had. From the game and theater room downstairs with popcorn and coffee, large selection of movies, pool, hot tub, fire pit with pre-made Smore’s kits to the treasure hunt. In your room there is a CHM game card, like bingo and one of the squares is “Find the Romance”. It is a secret item hidden in your room. The clue to the item is somewhere in the common areas of the mansion. It was fun looking for the clue then looking for the item in our room. We had a fun time searching and well we discovered each other in the process.
Romance is a huge aspect of your stay here and CHM staff makes sure you have a wonderful romantic stay.
Culinary delight describes the dinner and breakfast we had. Nathan the chef fro our dinner was great. He is very personable, likable and you can tell, taste that he makes every meal with love. The food was amazing and the portions were well more than one would expect and in some cases eat. Chelsea was the Chef for breakfast and she was just a sweetheart. The food was great, the atmosphere wonderful, what a great way to start your day.
In closing, Alan and Deanne Fielding have gone out of their way to create a B&B that has some many little touches that one would not expect. They are two of the most pleasant and charming people you will meet. We loved our experience so much we have made reservations for two nights next year.
The only things I had to say were laees than perfeect are:
Downstairs is a refridgeerator with pop, juices, cold coffee's and ice cream and they charge for these. It is a honor system but they charge a small fee. I have stayed at other B&B's costing less and these items were free. With only 7 rooms one woudl think these items are provided.
Sleep Quality - My fiance slept great but for me the bed was too soft for me.
Room Keys - you get actual metal keys on a large keychain thing. As long as you have a purse or similar to store he key when away from the CHM, at least for guys it is too big to carry in pockets.
