“Excellent - a beautiful facility and exhibition”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

The beauty and inventiveness on display at the LeMay is immediately obvious. We spent at least two hours - with a 5-year-old in tow - and still didn't see everything. Sited between the Tacoma Dome and the Glass Museum, things are definitely looking up for downtown!

“Make plans to go NOW if you can !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

Harold LeMay is gone. His Widow and his legacy however, live on in the newest and certainly amongst the best car museums to be seen. The creme de la creme of the world's largest private collection is on display along with rotating collections such as the Bulgari and the EV-1 on loan from GM.
The ultra modern building reminds some of a giant, upside down boat which is MUCH larger inside than it appears from outside. Approximately twelve galleries on four floors house many more cars than I imagined could be housed there.
Since the displays are dynamic, plan to stop in often to see their latest offerings.
One of my favorite restaurants, Pacific Grill runs the Cafe there. Well done !
This museum represents herculean efforts of thousands of people and hundred of organizational entities to have made it happen. You'll love it !

“Automobile Buffs Heaven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

If you are into cars, don't miss this great display in Tacoma, WA. This was definitely a walk down memory lane with domestic, foreign and racing cars of the 20th century. All the cars were in very good shape and mostly original. My only disappointment was there were not many of the very classic 1950s Fords and Chevys. The cars are changed periodically so you can go back several times to view different ones. It is the largest collection of its kind on the west coast.

“Great Car Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

The LeMay Auto Museum is just about perfect. It is a shame that they can not show al of the vehicles but the collection is so massive that it can not all fit at one time. They also show autos from other private collections. Vehicles are beautiful and the history stuff is awesome. This is a museum that one needs to visit more than once. A schedule of when they change the displayed vehicles would be nice. I am sure they have a focus of each display of vehicles and it would be cool if it was made available. I did not check the web site and it may actually be there.

“Cars, Cars, Cars”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

If you are a car buff, this is a great place to visit. If you are not a car buff, it is still great fun. Mr. LeMay had the largest collection of automobiles until his recent passing. Every type of car imaginable is here, restored to great detail. In particular, the older cars, like the Cadillacs were impressive. I also enjoyed all the race cars, the Ferraris, and cars from the Fifties and Sixties that I owned or drove. It really does bring back great memories.
