“Great food & service ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2014

The waitress was friendly & attentive & the food was delicious. It sort of has a small sports bar feel. It wasn't very crowded around noon on a weekday so it wasn't too loud.

“Neighborhood Pub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

You'll find mostly locals at Doyle's, and they're repeat customers--not many tourists. It's a friendly place that's inviting to everyone. You'll feel comfortable here even if you're along. Typical pub grub.

“Great for British Pub Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013 via mobile

Stopped here for lunch purely because it received great yelp reviews. We had the bangers and mash and the ruben. This place knows how to cook. The food was great and I'm sure it's heaving I the evening. This is the place for British comfort food.

“Go for the pot pie...skip the Reuben.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

I went there with some friends yesterday to grab some beer and food and watch the Hawks. I like the pub vibe there -- kind of down to earth, like you'd find in England (I lived in a pub in England as a kid, so I've got creds). They had a nice selection of beers and a $40 whisky tasting that might be fun if you didn't have to drive. I asked the waitress what the little shields were next to three of the menu items. She responded that they were their specialties, and that the Reuben was the two-time award winner in a best of Tacoma contest. Okay...I'm a sucker for a good Reuben. The best one I ever had was in Milwaukee -- a l-o-n-g time ago. So she brings me the Reuben and it's stone cold. It hadn't gone cold -- it was never warm. The kraut was ice-box cold. If you look up a Reuben in Wikipedia, here is what you get: "The Reuben sandwich is a hot sandwich of corned beef, Swiss cheese, with Russian or Thousand Island dressing, and sauerkraut." The operative word being "hot." The sandwich had good ingredients, but I was very disappointed. I also had the lobster bisque -- but somebody forgot to invite the lobster. It was just a watery, tomato soup. I know, who goes to a bar and orders lobster bisque? This schmuck. Two of my guests had chicken pot pie, and they both said that it was the best chicken pot pies they'd ever had. Gee...thanks. So, I guess I'll go back and try that. And maybe that whisky tasting.

“Best Pub In Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

Classic pub that reminds me of Europe. Serves a large variety of European bears on Tap (including Hoeegarden, my favorite). The food is some of the best Irish Pub Food you can find. Delicious Shepards Pie and a great Happy Hour Menu. There is generally plenty of room and its one of the few bars where you can catch all of the English Premier League and MLS games. The bar generally gets packed with sounders fans during game time.
