“Best kept secret?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

You must make a conscious decision to visit this museum as it's not on the main road but if you enjoy learning about local history and culture, do yourself a favor and head out to The Dalles to enjoy this hidden gem. Beautifully presented in an architecturally and environmentally pleasing setting. A visit here will definitely help you get the most out of a trip to the Gorge.

“Best Lewis and Clark collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

We were reading the journals of Lewis and Clark before and during this trip. We found this to be one of the best collections pertaining to their expedition plus other displays pertaining to the settling of the West and the Indian culture of The Dalles area.

They cover the geology, native culture, pioneers, flora and fauna. There were plenty of interactive displays and docents. Wonderful views and both outside and inside activities.

“Wished I had more time to spend there”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Learned more about the Lewis and Clark expedition, good use of interactive computer kiosks and media...learned more about local history. There is a raptor show there too.
