My husband and I stayed a night for our 10th anniversary. We were looking forward to staying at what we thought was going to be a luxurious hotel. We had won $100.00 gift cards so we were going to splurge on the rest in order to celebrate.
Everything went great when we first got there. We quickly got into our room and it was ok but I was a bit disappointed. For the price they charge, I expected more. We normally stay at a Best Western hotel and they have simple things like a small fridge and a coffee pot. This room had nothing!
Also, for the $224.00 per night, you would think that it would be ok to drink the small bottles of water in the room. But we were charged $2.00 each for those!! We didn't eat dinner because of the excessive prices on the menus and we just weren't hungry so we stuck with eating the snacks that we brought with us.
The next morning, we had to wait to get coffee because we were NOT going to pay for the expensive coffee at the Starbucks downstairs. We ordered room service and they were quick about getting it to us. We ordered the corned beef hash, the biscuits and gravy and a fruit plate. In order to get coffee, you had to choose if you wanted a 3 cup or a 6 cup thermal and of course it was all expensive. Once we got our food, I opened the biscuits and gravy and it looked like vomit on top of my hash browns!! It was DISGUSTING!! I tasted it and it tasted just as bad. My husband tasted it too and said something was wrong with it. So the $11.50 biscuits and gravy were a waste!! We called the dining room and told them and got not positive response. When we checked out, we told them again and they were going to contact the dining room and get a credit for it and then email our bill to us. When we got the bill, there was the full charge so I called the hotel and was told that we ate the whole thing and were just wanting a credit now. Basically... I HAD BEEN CALLED A LIAR!!!! If I was just trying to get a freebie on something... I would have chosen something more expensive cause believe me... most everything WAS!!
The only good thing I can say about this hotel is... the lobby is stunning and the bed was comfortable.
I have nothing else good to say about it and they basically made my 10th Anniversary a disappointment instead of something memorable. We stayed at a Best Western for our 5th Anniversary and they had a bottle of wine and a card waiting in the room when we got there. I know the hotel doesn't owe us anything just because it was our 10th... but Best Western sure does put the Davenport to shame in my eyes!!
Tower rooms are cheap leopard prints. Have fun with that!

Thank you so much for taking the time to make us aware of your experience. Also, we do appreciate the kind words regarding our lobby and the comfortable beds. We wanted to ensure all who read this understood what the $224 room included, as your comment would lead guests to believe that the room itself was $224. The price included a stay in a deluxe room, overnight valet parking, and a $75 dining credit to use in our restaurants, lounges, espresso stands, or room service. That being said, there is no excuse for the lack of quality you experienced with your breakfast. Please know that this is not typical of the quality that is offered and expected from our kitchens. We do apologize for the misunderstanding regarding the final bill, as our manager was confused as to why the food was consumed if it lacked the quality that was expected. We are glad that this was remedied and the charge was removed from your bill. Again, thank you for sharing this feedback ~ it will surely be used to ensure instances such as these are not repeated.
