“Nice Property, Friendly Personnel, Excellent Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

I have stayed several times in Spokane but this was my first experience at the Red Lion Inn. I was very pleasantly surprised! A truly warm welcome at check-in, a very comfortable clean/fresh room, very quiet & free internet access. Nicely located overlooking the River with nearby walking trails. Everything one would want from the Buffet Breakfast and friendly service.Very convenient access to the downtown area & all the shopping on N.Division.
Will certainly plan to stay here again!

The Red Lion River Inn is in a great location. Right next to the river, walking trails, Gonzaga U. and much more. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I stayed in a corner room on the north side and it had great views of the river. The restaurant is good as well. Staff was courteous. And the parking is free. I would definitely stay here again. Only paid $50 on Priceline.

Because we were in Spokane for the State B Basketball Tournament in March 2013, we were hurried and threw our things into the room without spending more time looking things over.
Imagine my surprise and disappointment when I did get a good look. The room was absolutely filthy from ceiling to floor and wall to wall. Cobb webs around the ceiling, furniture, carpet, and bathroom floors that needed a severe cleaning, a bed that sagged so badly it felt like a hammock, drapes that could not be opened, and certainly not the least of these, the floor in the room was so unstable and squeeky that not only did we trip several times walking across it, the furniture rattled with every step we took. My husband and I have stayed here many times over the past 18 years and in the past it appeared that the management took pride and valued its customers and saw to their care. The problems we experienced with this one room are not only specific to this one room, but are symptomatic of the entire facility. It does sadden me greatly that the quality and value of our stay becomes less with each visit. I am fairly confident this will be our last visit to this establishment.

Wanted a nice little weekend get-away. Room excluded, it was a thoroughly trailer-park experience. Drunks and dogs in the hallway. Wrong season for pool or room service (what the hell does THAT mean?) and, hands-down the worst breakfast we've experienced at any hotel/motel in 15 years.

The room was clean. The bed was comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask about pets. Check to see where your room is in relation to entry doors, elevators, and stairwel...

We stayed at the Red Lion River Inn on the last weekend of December 2012. We were in town for a reunion.

It was a nice room, comfy bed, plenty of pillows. There were a couple of things that were a little annoying. It took a bit for us to figure out how to get heat going in the room. It was pretty cold outside-we finally found it on the wall, turned it up, pretty noisy but it was warm within a half hour. The other problem we figured out in the morning-there was no workable fan in the bathroom. Try as I might I couldn't find the switch for it. If it was supposed to turn on when you turned on the light it did not work at all so we left the bathroom door open as we took showers. There also was no outlet in the bathroom - you had to step out into the room to use an outlet for a blow dryer. We did a little bit of searching to figure out where to plug in phones to recharge-not clearly seen upon arrival in the room. When we went to get breakfast the next morning our room fee did not include the breakfast which was fine but it would have been nice if we had been told prior to booking that this would happen. We would have made arrangements to have that included. We also didn't expect to have to hand over $40.00 at the beginning of our stay as a sort of deposit. This was unknown to us also. We did sleep well and the meal was good. I think it was just a matter of communication beforehand that would have made our stay better.

Room Tip: Make sure you know exactly what you are paying for and that you are told beforehand what the room fe...

Thank you so much providing us feed back on your most recent stay. I could see how some of those items could be annoying to have to deal with after a days travel. The details you provided are very helpful and I will be sure to forward these to the appropriate Manager so we may use this as a training opprotunity and be proactive on a solution. Thank you again for your feed back and we hope that you will come back again and stay with us.

We had spent Christmas with our children and grandchildren in Victoria, British Columbia (BC)and went to Shelton WA, to visit a friend. Halfway to Spokane on our way home to Nelson BC
We decided to spend the night in Spokane We' taken the children to the Icecapades some
thirty years ago and decided to see if the Red Lion Inn was as good now as it was then. The desk
clerk responded promptly to my request (with a military discount) and we found ourselves in a large King Size room with all the usual amenities and a superb view ot the water. We were delighted with the desk clerk's subsequent call to ask if every thing was satisfactory and could she do anything for us. While the hotel shows its age in some areas, the maintenance is on-going and the room could not have been any better presented or furnished. The bed was very comfortable, the linens were of excellent quality, and the restaurant and lounge were comparable in service and decor. The food and drink were high quality, and reasonably priced (the 10% off dinner coupons and the free breakfast were a grand touch and most appreciated). The menu was comprehensive and the food tastefully presented (although some portions were overly large) and was excellent value. We were pleased with the wide selection of wines and beers and the service in both the bar and restaurant was what one experiences on premium cruise ships. Over the years we have stayed in a range of hotels in the Spokane area and we will return to the Red Lion on future occasions

We have stayed at the River Inn a number of times... during our last visit, we found the staff to be courteous & pleasant, very comfortable bed and the use of the (free) shuttle was outstanding.
One drawback was that sometimes the TV loses its picture - signal... it takes a few minutes to re-acquire a signal.
