“Challenging Stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

This was our first time at the Red Lion Hotel. We reserved a corporate suite as we have 2 adults and two children. The bedroom did not have a door separating the living room and bedroom. The sofabed was terrible quality with springs basically coming out all over it. The room was stocked with two bath towels and one box of Kleenex. We tried to change rooms, but the hotel was sold out. Called to order dinner to the room, got voicemail and ended up walking to the restaurant to place order. They quoted one hour for room service, so I came back to pick it up. Our room included breakfast buffet, which was sparse at best. There were 4 hot items including oatmeal... for over $200, we expected better. One thing that was positive is the fact that the staff was courteous, polite and helpful. Location is also good. That being said, we are very unlikely to return to this hotel.

Staff is quick to help where needed and very clean hotel breakfast is not large but good flavour and quality. The indoor pool and hot tube are very clean, the outdoor pool was wonderful waterslide and fountain. Very close to Riverside park. Lots of parking we felt very secure in the downtown location.

Room Tip: Next time I would ask for an outside pool side slidding door room. Very quiet room the hotel was ful...

Green Features: Great notices and respect for the environment. Very neat when you open the outside door the a/c turns off so not to waste power on cooling the outside.

Room 3047, Stayed 2 nights. The hotel is in a great location beside the river park in downtown Spokane. Walking distance to everything downtown - our car didn't move. The huge lobby is pleasant for relaxing in. The pool is large and surrounded by hotel and trees so no sudden cold breezes. Our room was small, not much larger than the queen bed. Fortunately the air conditioner and fan were quiet so the room did not become stuffy at night. Housekeeping is lax. At the pool, one of the times that we went swimming there were no towels and when I asked for some it took an hour before any showed up. We left our room about 10 AM the first morning and were back briefly several times during the day. At 2 the housekeeping cart was across the hall but our room hadn't been looked after. At 3 the cart was beside our room. My wife asked for more tea. At 4:30 the cart was gone but no tea and our room hadn't been touched. At 7:30 our room had been made up and the tea replenished. They could do a better job with housekeeping. The front desk was very helpful with information or anything they had at hand such as maps.

Room Tip: If you don't mind spending time in the lobby or the pool deck, then the small room can be OK for...

We enjoyed our stay very much. We were allowed to check in early and our room had a wonderful view. The pool was fun, but outdoor pool closed too early for summer hours and hot weather (8:30 PM), leaving families to crowd into the indoor pool.
The staff was very good and the location of the hotel was superb. We would definitely stay here again!

This was my 2nd time staying at Red Lion Hotel At The Park and I loved it. The room was amazing with our own little balcony and a perfect view of the outdoor pool. The beds were very comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. There was even a seperate sink besides the bathroom one so two people could get ready in the morning. There were a couple of issues: room key kept not working and had to keep getting it fixed, mold in shower, housekeeping didn't service our room while we were out sight seeing even though we asked them to when we left. However the staff was really friendly and quick to take care of these issues and the overwelming comfort and large size of the room over rides these small issues. I would definantly stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view of the outdoor pool are nice.

We're a family of 5 and we've stayed here twice on Silverwood trips. Both times it's been perfect as a place to sleep with the added benefit of a great pool and city access. Average to Very Good is a big leap so I've only given this 3/5 but it is a good hotel, specifically good value for money. I've stayed in plenty of 3-star hotels and most of them are forgettable. This is a big hotel, a little dated, arguably a little under-staffed but it's great value for money in my view. Location is great, easy access from I-90 and the park is on your doorstep with lots of things to see/do. Pool is great although I wish the poolside bar hours were a little longer - room service is available at the pool but costs more. Check-in and breakfast can be busy. This time we opted for not breakfast as the wait is not worth it when there are plenty of alternatives.

Room Tip: Pay the extra $10 for a premium room.

Very clean and fun place to stay. The outdoor pool was clean and refreshing and the water slide was a huge hit with my kids. Room was stylish and clean. Beds are very confortable. Best experience in a long time. Close to many attractions and jogging paths. A must stay place.

Room Tip: Recommend a pool view. Very nice.
