“Like walking into real life Cheers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014

Found place from DDD site and could not have been happier. Full of friendly locals who welcomed outsiders and were happy to chat you up. Made for an extremely pleasant evening. Sat at bar to eat, and bartender, who they all knew by name, was just as inviting and friendly. He was also very knowledgeable about the many beers on tap - about 30. Had Rube Waddell burger, which was a Reuben on a burger, and was a taste explosion. Came with unlimited fries, which had fantastic seasoning. Slaw was also very good. Onion rings just ok. Other pates were very large orders of food. Asked for chocolate case for dessert and for a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Bartender had them put three scoops on and a ton of whipped cream without any extra charge. A great local place, but eat at the bar, it's worth it.

“Best burger in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2014

My wife and I had our first meal at Waddell's Pub at 6501 N Cedar Rd in Spokane. We went with friends who already were fans of Waddell's. We see why. The four of us had: Island Burger, Chipotle Chix Sandwich, Caesar Wrap, and Big Dawg. My Island Burger was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals. Thanks to my light eating wife, I was able to enjoy half of the Caesar wrap for lunch the next day.
We were seated in a booth in the bar. Our server was friendly and efficient.
We will return to Waddell's, I'm sure.

“Room for improvement, yet when it all comes together should be great.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014 via mobile

NEW JUST OPENED NOT EVEN A MONTH AGO! That being said loved the atmosphere, great staff. Food has room for improvement yet still very good. My son said the smoke jumper burger he had was very good, HUGE yet good. The pop rock wing have room for improvement, the Thai chicken flatbread pizza needs alot of work. Taste more like a bad teriyaki not Thai.

“5 Mile location - OK to give it a 2nd try”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

I have to agree with another reviewer's assessment of the hostess at the 5 Mile location the hostess should be replaced. We tried the restaurant on noon on Friday for lunch. The hostess was not present when we arrived so we just walked to the bar area.

Our waitress (Jessica) on the other hand was friendly, personable, and punctual. We ordered the Turkey Club with sweet potato fries ($9.50) and the Lamb Philly with seasoned fries ($12.95) and two pints of Fireman's Amber Ale ($4 per pint). The turkey club is served on flatbread and is messy to eat but good. The lamb philly had tons of flavor and spice (there are fried jalapenos on it). Also, the fries are bottomless! Little added bonus. Pasta salad, coleslaw, sweet potato fries, or seasoned fries are offered with sandwiches.

They only had 3 beers brewed at the time and Jessica was more than willing to provide us with samples. Of the 3, we liked the Amber Ale the best.

There were two other deterrents during our lunch - the ventilation system needs some upgrades and there were too many staff. It was smoky in the restaurant from the kitchen and there was a visible haze in the restaurant. The second item is nit-picky - there were 5 employees at the front counter - one we think was the hostess and the other four were standing around drinking soda while we saw 3 waitresses bust their rumps on tables. If employees are on break or want to chat with each other, then do it in a break room or out of the front view of the customers.

We will go back and give the Happy Hour a try. Monday thru Friday from 3pm to 5pm is what we were told. We hope more beers will be available from their brewery on our second visit.

The bar area was nice...some TVs available to watch the games and the brewery is visible. Note, sit on the 4 legged stools, the 3 legged stools seemed tipsy to us.

This restaurant opened on December 23, 2013. Hopefully, the place will stay in business as long as customers are treated well (i.e. the hostess is the first and last person customers should see and s/he should be the friendliest) and the food is good. 5 Mile needs more local restaurants and I'm glad Waddell's has moved into the area - Good Luck!

“5 mile location SUCKS!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

Waited forever for a seat, the hostess was rude, and passed us over for others that came in after us. She attempted to pass us over again until the manager stepped in. Wow what a horrible experience. Food and beer was OK, but not worth the wait. Need staff/hostess that care about the costumer.
