Had dinner on a Saturday evening. It wasn't crowded, and we were seated right away. The decoration seems interesting. Looking around, I noticed the couple sitting next to our table looking bored as they wait for their check. Not a good sign.
I ordered jambalaya and added a cup of soup. At $3 a cup, I expected a reasonable-sized cup. Instead, it's the smallest cup of soup I've had for a while. It's also barely hot. While it's the seafood bisque is fairly tasty, it was definitely disappointing.
The jambalaya is flavorful, perhaps a little too flavorful. It's spicy and with the black rice, felt super-rich. A lighter sauce would have worked better.
My wife ordered the strip steak. It was bland and not well seasoned.
A quick look of the dessert menu shows that most of them run $5 to $7. It seems that this restaurant tries to gouge you with expensive side dishes and desserts.
It took forever to get the check and then the credit card receipt. After one refill of water, my glass sat empty for last 15 minutes. Services could be better.
