“Elegant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

The exterior and grounds are beautifully maintained, with plenty of options for sitting outside. But the interior is truly amazing: I suspect that even the original owners would be impressed!
The breakfast was delicious and elegantly served. The only possible drawback is that it is served at 9:00, which happened to work for our schedule, but could be a possible drawback.

We stayed here while visiting for fall family weekend. The location was a bit out of the way for Gonzaga, but give the small city, this wasn't a big deal. There was just something off about the place. The onsite manager was new, and wasn't quite comfortable in her role, from what I could tell. The house is beautiful, but overdone in my opinion on the inside. (Traditional B&B I suppose, but the 10+ feathered, neon hats on the hat stand in the lobby area was too much.) Our room was attractive, with an incredibly small bathroom. Not surprising given the age of the house, but probably needs a little more explanation in advance. The breakfast was good and big - too much perhaps for me.

ROBERTS MANSION is the BEST place I have stayed in years! And I travel a lot! Mary is the hostess we all dream about. She is colorful, informative, and anticipates your every need. Her Ladies in Waiting are what we wish for. Both were well-groomed young women and the nicest, friendly staff any employer could ask for. The ice tea was yummy with a special lemony surprise. And the cookies were delivered to us on the front porch, hot-from-the-oven within minutes of our arrival. My mother is quite a traveler, so having the ladies share the Mansion's history and drinking tea out of genuine bone china was a bonus for her! We were there FIRST FRIDAY, which is the first friday of every month and quite eventful in the Mansion's neighborhood. So there were 3 sessions of wine tasting and treats on Friday evening, as well as a beautiful art shown on the lawn of the Mansion. I'm sure you've already read about the Roberts Mansion breakfast. A few of the yummies to mention in our 3 courses were the famous RAISIN BRAN and CRAISIN muffins, quiche to-die-for, and a berry blintz beyond imagination. Let the ladies know if you have any diet restrictions, you will be well taken care of. Ask for the Mary Tracy room-- it is the most beautiful of rooms with original bathtub in the adjoining necessary room. The Mary Tracy also has it own "sitting room". You will appreciate all the work owner, Mary, has gone to restoring the Mansion to it's original friendly charm!

Room Tip: The Mary Tracy room is draped in Sunshine, in the sitting room first thing in the morning. You can...

Came across this mansion by complete accident. My wife just walked up to the front door thinking it would have been full for the night. Low and behold, we turned out to be the only guest.
The staff was amazing, kind and informative!!! The house was like stepping back in time, wonderfully decorated and the grounds are so peaceful... Located just a stones throw from a hand full of restaurants and a city walk loaded with victorian homes over looking the Spokane River.
A three course breakfast awaited us in the morning! Unfortunately it was our last night in Spokane, but when we return, we know exactly where we're staying.
Thanks Roberts Mansion! You have a hidden gem!!!

We happened on the Roberts Mansion by sheer luck and were so pleased to have found it! Our room was great and reasonably priced; it's in a historic neighborhood full of lovely homes and good restaurants and the staff is very friendly. While our room was a great temperature, the rest of the house's shared rooms were quite hot, probably to save on electricity (and who can blame them?) Air conditioning in the guests' computer room, even at night, would have made it easier to print out the boarding passes. All in all, we would come here first on a return trip to Spokane and would have loved to have eaten at Mary's new restaurant, which should be open by now.

My wife and I stayed a night at the Roberts Mansion. We were both blown away by this place. The decorating and history is amazing. Everyone was super friendly. The grounds are nicer than any B&B we have stayed in, and the breakfast was to die for. The neighborhood has great charm as well, with several restaurants within an easy walk. We ate at the italian one just a block away and it was excellent.

If you like the B&B experience, and plan to spend a night or more in Spokane, you simply must stay here! We plan to go back often!

The owner is opening a restaurant next door as well - can't wait to try that out. We took a quick look and the outdoor patio area looks outstanding. If the food is anything like the breakfast we had at the B&B, this is going to be a very special place.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Marion suite...it has a neat little outdoor deck to enjoy a cup of coffee in the mo...

My wife, our son and I recently stayed at Roberts Mansion for 4 days in the Secret Garden Suite.

The mansion and its grounds were great. While the mansion is a short drive away from downtown, it's easy to forget that because of how quiet the neighbourhood is. We really enjoyed the main courtyard and our son loved running around. The secret garden was perfect for a quiet family dinner (which was purchased from a nearby pizza shop... Overall, the location is great. There's a grocery store within 2 blocks and a number of restaurants and a coffee shop within a block.) The mansion itself is beautiful with many places to sit and enjoy either the atmosphere of the mansion or the outdoors.

The breakfasts are amazing. My wife and I are big brunch / breakfast people and often go out for breakfast and I have to say that the breakfasts served at the Mansion are among the best (it's not often you get a 3 course breakfast!). Each day was different and all were excellent.

Last but not least, Mary and her staff were great. They were very accommodating with our 3 year old son and one of the staff members (Courtney) was so attentive, it felt like she had been dedicated strictly to us.

Overall, it was a great experience and we highly recommend a stay at Roberts Mansion!

Room Tip: The Secret Garden Suite is ideal for a smaller family (since it has a full kitchen). If it is more...
