“Our Rescue from the HolidayInn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

These people were able to accommodate us at the last minute, during an high-occupancy weekend after our horrific stay at the Holiday Inn Airport in Spokane, Washington. Everything was fine, great breakfast buffet, good snacks at check in with fresh iced water, coffee and tea. Pool area was fantastic!!! I've never seen a lift for handicap access to the pool. Great idea.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a large room. We got the smallest rooms which are over the highly lit area in fr...

Thanks for your kind remarks about our Hampton Inn Spokane! We're pleased to hear you really enjoyed our pool area, and yes it's nice to have a handicap accessible lift for our pool and hot tub. Everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the pool! ~ Jamie Crawford, Assistant General Manager

I have stayed in many different hotels across the US and the world and I would say Hampton Inns are a good example of a "value hotel". They aren't the cheapest and they aren't the most deluxe, but for what I need, they fit the bill.

First of all, ALL the staff, from front desk to maid, were very friendly and helpful. I thought the facility was reasonably clean, as far as you can determine that a place is really clean. One thing, for those grossed-out about hotel cleanliness in general, the linens and bed covers are sparkling white, so any dirt or stains would really stand out.

Parking is free, you get a free newspaper, the wi-fi is free, the fitness center is free, there's a laundry (coin-op) facility and there's the free breakfast buffet. The buffet has enough selection to please most everyone - you're not going to rave about the food, but it's clean, convenient and easy to navigate if you're in a hurry.

I would not stay here as a destination, but as a home base for activities in town, it's great.

Room 215 on May 29, we checked into the Hampton Inn in Spokane. The location is 2010 S. Assembly Road.
We went to bed about 11 pm. I realized I had left the bathroom light on. Got up, turned off the light. I went back to bed and turned on the nightstand light to find my CPAP mask, only to discover the bed was crawling with what I surmised were bedbugs.
I called the front desk, they promptly send a man up to our room. He took one of the bugs that we had captured in a cup, to compare it with a picture of a bedbug on the internet. He returned about 5 minutes later to confirm they were indeed bedbugs. By then we had decided to leave and drive approximately 150 miles home. We inspected our clothes, luggage, etc. We packed and for home at 1:30am. Arrived home at 4:30 am and went to bed.
The next morning, the Manager of the Hampton Inn called us to apologize and offered to make sure our money was refunded to our credit card. She also offered to replace any clothing or luggage that was damaged. She advised us to run all our clothing through the dryer and to put our luggage in the bathtub to drown any bugs. No bugs were found in our clothing or luggage---that we observed.
She subsequently called us today (5/3/2013). I advised her that one suitcase was destroyed with the water soaking. She said she would replace the luggage piece, but never asked what type of luggage it was!
I asked if there was any consideration for our inconvenience. She replied that she was only able to compensate us for the room cost and any damage to our luggage, nothing more.
Needless to say, we are VERY paranoid to stay in any hotel, especially Hampton Inns.
This was our 1st encounter with bedbugs, and hope it's the last.

Room Tip: Avoid room 215 at all costs.

I stayed one night in mid April at this Motel. I backed my pickup truck into a parking space directly in from of an exit door with rooms on either side. Upon my departure at 6 am the following morning my lock camper shell window and locked rear passenger window were broken and all the contents were removed. When reporting the incident to the front desk, the assistant immediately provided the number to report the burglary. This obviously was a regular occurance at this motel. I then had the Maintenace worker help me tape plastic over the broken windows and confirmed, theft at this hotel was an on going occurance. There is NO security provided at the hotel! I would suggest there are more secure hotel's to stay in while visiting Spokane, Washington. The hotel itself was worn and dated, and not what I would expect from a Hampton Inn/ Hilton Franchise.

Room Tip: Stay at another hotel!

The hotel rooms are a little dated and I noticed they didn't hve those signs that say linens cleaned, the room wasn't as clean as I prefer. The ladies of the front desk and dining room were fantastic, can't say the same for the men.

I've stayed at this Hampton Inn a number of times over the past several years and never been disappointed. Check-in/check-out is painless and the rooms are dependably comfortable. This particular Hampton is close to the Spokane airport and convenient Highway US=90 with quick access to downtown Spokane.

Personnel at the desk during my stay was extremely helpful. We asked to have a room change due to noisy air conditioners on the roof. I asked to have hotels booked with Hampton Inns for the following two nights. Easily done with a hand delivered/written note. Hotel and room attractively decorated and clean.
