“Newly remodeled property. Handy location to airport and colleges”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2011

I don't typically stay at Courtyards. They are mostly higher priced Fairfields with no breakfast included, in my opinion. This Courtyard is different. Very clean and modern. Everything was excellent. The front desk staff all friendly and helpful. This location is about 10 minutes from the airport and is also very close to Gonzaga with a number of college type places to eat. I would stay here again if I ever return to Spokane.

Checked in for an overnight while on a 2-day trip home. Check-in clerk handled things well, and then announced "...they changed their breakfast format." Yep, nothing to eat when you get up, but they now have a "bistro" where you can purchase cold cereal (cheapest item on the menu) for $3.95. The whole idea struck me as greedy. Luckily, there was a Perkins across the parking lot. Plus, we've never stayed at any hotel where you have to borrow the local phone book from the front desk and use it in the lobby. Wow! What kind of customers stay there? At least it didn't have a tether attached. We'll stay at Marriott's Fairfield Inn next time.

The newly remodled lobby & food area looks really nice. They have a touchscreen board in the loby, which was very cool to play with. They had a business center for people with no laptops and I was (pleasently) suprised that they offer free wi-fi, because origionally when I booked the hotel, it said they did not. The location was perfect for me and was overall a nice stay.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting a student at nearby Gonzaga University and thoroughly enjoyed the facility. Our room was a nice size and in immaculate condition. The beds were soft and comfortable. The location by the river is very convenient to gonzaga and very quiet. The riverwalk let us walk downtown as well. The hotel lobby has been remodeled since our last visit a year ago and is nice but so was the 'old' lobby so I'm not sure what the improvement was. One negative is that the breakfast buffet is gone and is replaced by a breakfast bistro. The bistro food was good but was more expensive than the old buffet by quite a bit, although the variety was greater. Also, they apparenltly will also serve dinner in the bistro although we didn't try that.

I have been a TripAdvisor member for several years, and although I have mentioned a few problems in the past, I have never dealt with a hotel as horrible as this place.

1. Theresa at the front desk was rude and exhibited a dismissive attitude during our check in. I never saw her smile and felt like we were a bother to her.
2. The non slip bottom of the tub was filthy black.
3. There were long black hairs and pubic hairs on the bathroom floor. We found dirt on the carpet and would not walk on it without shoes.
4. When we got in bed everything was fine for a few minutes and then I began to itch. I never found anything that could be causing my itching, but the next morning I found several raised areas like I had been bitten by something. It was after 10:30 when we went to bed so rather than change rooms, which probably would not have corrected the filth, we went out and bought Lysol and sprayed the bed and the entire room before getting back in bed for a long restless night. The next morning I took the covers off the bed and found the mattress to be so old that the cloth covering the mattess was seperating in places due to use and age.

I have stayed at many Courtyard Marriotts, but have never experienced such conditions as these.

Sorry Marriott, but you are slipping and the public should know.

Stayed at the Courtyard in Spokane this weekend. GoBoard didn't completely work... paid $149 for the room and it still has old fashioned, small tube tv's. Also had a early flight and stopped by the bistro at 645a for breakfast and it was still closed; didn't open until 7a. Too late for me. Not impressed.
