“Lovely Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

We went to the Salish Lodge dining room for our anniversary. We enjoyed a very lovely meal and our service was excellent. We ordered the "tasting menu", where we were brought our meal in small courses paired with wine of their choosing. It ended up being THE most expensive dinner we have ever had (and we have traveled and eaten all over the world) and we both felt that it wasn't good enough to warrant that cost, but it is a lovely view of the falls. It was extremely drafting (literally windy) in our little alcove and although the staff did everything in their power to make it warmer, it was still something that marred our experience. It just doesn't enhance a special experience to be freezing the whole time and unable to take your coat off. Overall though...very nice.

“Many years later, things change ~~ ?? !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

Booked the lovely private room with exquisite view of the falls, which remains
as lovely as ever.
Have been coming to 'the lodge' since the mid-1970s . . .
yes, THAT long! LOL
This time planned a fine champagne-laced birthday lunch, and
anticipated the day . . .
Happily seated, given the menus . . . and waited.
And waited some more.
Began to wonder if or when we would see our server again.
At last . . . she reappeared.
The menu has been slimmed down from the exquisite lunches once
available, to a basic starter, salads and sandwiches style.
Very disappointing, as there are no 'real meals' available which would be
worthy of this lovely, not inexpensive setting.
But the champagne was enjoyable.
Fish & Chips . . . ordinary.
Salad . . . well, the chicken was tender, though the additions most basic
and quite bland.
Hardly the stuff of 'celebration'.
Thought we'd amble upstairs to the Attic Lounge for an Irish Coffee after,
only to learn it was closed for remodeling. Oh, that is what the sawing outside
was all about . . . they're making it into a pizza platform.
Not thrilled with the meal considering the slow service and overall cost.
We'll keep hoping that this venue will one day return to its former glory when
privately owned and called The Snoqualmie Lodge ~~

Dear Valued Guest,
I am truly sorry for your experience while dining at the Salish Lodge. We strive to make every experience top notch with food offering as well as service. As you referred to, the Attic is being renavated to include a pizza oven. Once this is completed and reopened, we will be revamping the Dining Room lunch menu to reflect offering to compliment the setting. Again, I do apologize for your experience. Please don't hesitate to give me a call if you would like to discuss further.

Sincerely,

“Hurry up and wait.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

The food was average, service appalling and we expected much more from this renowned restaurant. Waiting 40 minutes for our lunch entrees was a little too long and no apology given!!! Also note that you don't see the falls from the restaurant as it is situated right above them and you have to go outside to view them properly. Disappointing!

“Delightful Breakfast at the Falls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

There are lots of small things that make breakfasting here special: Dark and white chocolate to add to your coffee! Fresh breads with distinctive flavors and textures. ...and, of course, The Falls.
