“Worth the Drive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

Out on the old highway between Long Beach and Longview Washington is the Julia Butler Hanson Columbia Black Tailed Deer Preserve and the little village of Skamokawa. The Duck Inn has been a local establishment for many, many years, including both a restaurant and lounge (The Drake Room) which was slowly disintegrating into the Columbia River slough behind the place. It was always a reliable stop on the way to or from the coast.

Now, the restaurant and bar have been completely rebuilt from the ground up, including a beautiful deck overlook the slough that is open during the summer months. Clean, warm and friendly, the "new" Duck Inn is a welcoming place that serves even better quality food for breakfast, lunch and dinner than the original. The Western Burger is made from 100% ground chuck, with thick sliced bacon, a large fried onion ring, BBQ sauce and all of the trimmings. After eating there twice, I must say that this is the very best hamburger that I have eaten anywhere in the west. I am sure that all of their food is of equal quality at a reasonable price.

A friendly staff with an easy going pace. Welcoming to the mix of loggers and kayakers, alike!

“Great girls night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

Good bar food, friendly staff. Pool tables, outdoor patio, karaoke all made for a great girls night! Unbelievable prices too, drank all night and couldn't believe the bill. Suppose that is me coming from az?

“OK place for a beer”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

Cold beer and a view over the slough. It was blazing hot the day we visited and none of the tables on the deck had umbrellas. Sitting inside was cooler but blasted by the TV. We didn't stay for dinner.

“Ducked in for breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

I stopped in with friends for a leisurely breakfast. It was newly redecorated, according to the local friends, and I appreciated the clean lines, but also the quirky decor and the location along a slough. The food was large versions of diner fare; my friends had the special which were enormous berry crepes. Great coffee. We had plenty of room and time to talk without feeling pressured.

“Large bar with outside seating overlooking water”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

We were staying in yurts close by and ate dinner here two nights. We ordered the daily specials and also off the menu. The soups were very good both nights. The specials were also good. The spaghetti and meatballs was average. There is a large restaurant area and a large bar area were we sat. Beers are a good value here. The large bar is very attractive. There are several large screen TVs and we had the pleasure of watching the Olympics. The manager was very personable and went out of his way to accomodate us.
