“Delicous food, locally sourced ingredients, excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

If I could eat at Alder Wood Bistro every week, I would! The menu varies with the seasons and with whatever good ingredients are available locally. Its amazing what the chef does to make absolutely yummy dishes from simple foods like kale. Great wine selection, and local beers too. The staff are friendly, and the ambiance cozy and informal. I love to bring visiting friends and family, who knew Sequim would have such a place! Do make reservations, they are often full.

“Food is one of the best, worth the money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

The restaurant was recommended by the owner of the Bed and Breakfast where we stayed. We were the last people who was able to make reservations. Yes, make reservations. By the time we arrived, the restaurant was full. This is a very good sign at 6 pm.

The food was a little pricey. The quality and service was excellent. Being traveled from California to eat at the Seattle area, we would not save the $20 extra. So we ordered quite a lot of food for two. See the photos.

“Small, good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

Excellent food, but pricey by my standards I don't like paying $$$ for a 4 oz glass of wine but nice wine selection if you want a bottle. Tiny portions. Small restaurant.

“Alderwood Bistro is the best part of the drive to Port Angeles!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Whenever we leave Port Townsend and head west on the Peninsula, we try to schedule our drive to allow for a meal at our favorite restaurant, Alderwood Bistro. Even when there is a line waiting for their opening at 5 pm (last night, the crowd was headed for the David Sidaris event in Port Angeles beginning at 7 pm), the staff is unfailingly friendly and never hurried. Menu selection is the difficult part of dining in this cozy room due to the many locally grown organic choices, lovingly described and presented. I didn't see any Vegan selections, but there are lots of yummy ways to go "vegetarian" if that is your preference. Their wine, beer, and cider menu is carefully chosen with organic and small producers featured. My bubbly was from New Mexico, and the split was reasonably priced. Reservations are probably necessary for dinner, and save room for dessert!
