“Good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

We went on a weeknight and restaurant was not busy. Premises is clean, but not much ambiance. It has three booths and the rest are tables in a relative simple atmosphere. We had excellent service and the meal was served in a relatively short time. The crab stuffed halibut and crab stuffed cod, severed with roasted potatoes and spinach were excellent.

“Completely Disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

We were in Sequim on some quick shopping and decided to stop here for dinner. A coworker of mine had said she had eaten here twice, the first time magnificent, the second time not so much. We sat for 5 minutes waiting to be seated, no big deal, got to our table, gave our order within another five minutes, (fish and chips and smoked salmon fettuccini) and proceeded to sit for 50 minutes waiting for our meal. 50 minutes!! There were other patrons in the restaurant, I'd say it was roughly half filled, not packed by any means. The majority of the other patrons were also waiting for their food. We contemplated getting up and leaving, we should have. When the food was finally served, mine was lukewarm, watery and bland. Not kidding. The salmon was mushy and very unattractive looking. The fish and chips were oily, oily, oily. Two pieces were eaten, then it was determined that if he ate any more he would be sick. NOT GOOD. What made the evening even worse was the service. The young lady who was our waitress made no attempt at all to check on us during our nearly hour long wait. The only time she came to our table was to refill our water 45 minutes in, and say our food was almost ready.(In other words, we sat there for 45 minutes with no acknowledgment or interaction with our server. That is ridiculous.) Of course she has no control over what is going on in the kitchen, but it is her job to be the 'middle man' if you will between the kitchen and the customers. How about a little " I know you've been waiting quite a while, the chefs have your order, your food will be out shortly, can I bring you some bread while you wait, yada, yada, yada...anything from her would have made us feel at least acknowledged. Still wouldn't have helped the food, but it would have been something. Will never, never, go back.

“A Bit Slow, Decent Food, Not Kid Friendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

It's not a bad place to eat, but we've got 4 kids and it wasn't exactly a kid friendly atmosphere. When we went, there was a limited menu, prices were in-line with what you'd pay in this region, but the food was pretty good. We figured we'd try the restaurant out, the waitress took sympathy on us and did her best to help us keep the kids entertained for a food wait time of over an hour. Even the manager stopped by the table more than once to assure us that our food order had indeed been placed. If you enjoy quiet conversation with a loved one & don't mind a wait, you'll love this place.

“Excellent Food and Good Value - Ignore the decor”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

The "Very Good" review was based upon the food and the friendly service. Also I erred on the generous since I think this restaurant deserves a chance to make enough money to spruce the ambience and to hire enough staff to make up for some easily fixable items.

We were pleasantly surprised that the quality of the cod and chips was on par with the best fish and chips place in Vancouver, Canada; and at about 2/3 the price once you factor in the portion size. Kid #2 could not finish it all so we all gladly helped out.

Husband had a perfectly grilled medium rare flat iron steak. Another pleasant surprise was the quality of the sautéed vegetables. One minor flaw was that the crispy sugar peas were not trimmed.

Kid #1 and I ordered Clam Linguine. They were out of linguine (obviously short staffed or disorganized or too busy. I mean, who runs out of dried pasta on a Saturday night?). Our trepidation on agreeing to substituting for fettucine was realized. It didn't work. Kid #1 ate all his but I left 3/4 of mine (not worth the calories). Normally kid #1 would eat my leftover portion but even he declined the fettucine. The silver lining in this dish was the clams. They were large, sweet, juicy and sandfree! Ordered an extra dish of just clams and minor irritation solved.

Food came quickly and our waitress was very responsive. We would eat there again the next time we go to Sequim.
