5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2011

We recently stayed to have our wedding on the beach and our reception at the Shelburne Inn. Laurie and David and their staff made our day special. They made every guest feel at home and special. They truly helped to make this the most perfect day of our lives. Everything went perfect and they where a big part of making it happen. The staff was very caring and catered to our needs and request. We both feel we picked the perfect place to have our entire wedding party and guest stay. We also had the reception their and they where ready to do the wedding there if the weather did not hold up. We will go back time and time again to stay. They made everyone feel welcome.

A classic hotel/B&B. Great restaurant along with a gourmet breakfast. A lively pub in the evening. The staff is perfect.
Room 3 is small but adequate.

We arrived here after a long day driving, had to wait to be directed to a little room cramped with old antique furniture. You could barely get around the bed, let alone find a place for a suitcase. It was hot and had no ventilation. Windows were difficult to open and looked out on a busy street with a supermarket parking lot across the street. When we complained about ventilation we were given an old fan that did not run well! The road outside and restaurant below were noisy until late at night. We got little sleep. The next day we left early despite the less than gracious owners refusing to refund the charge for the next night. This may be a restaurant but not an inn where anyone would want to stay.

Room Tip: This is no more than a restaurant with a few rooms cluttered with too much old antique furniture tha...

This is a lovely old place with much charm and very friendly service. If you expect all the "charm" of the latest chain establishment forget it. The Inn is located where it is, good and bad and is very well done. Rooms very comfortable and well appointed. No problems with plumbing. Our stay was quiet. The dining was excellent for dinner and the breakfast was much more than usual at this type of place. Highly recommend even if you have to go out of your way.

We loved the Shelbourne. The owner was very friendly. The piano music with drinks was very enjoyable. We were traveling with our 2 adult age daughters and they where able to give us a very quaint room . i enjoyed to coffee in the morning in the lobby and the food was YUM. Thank you

Room Tip: We stayed in a 2 room ste. on the top floor. Lots of stairs but we did not mind.

This was our third visit to the Shelburne Inn. How reassuring it is to encounter the same high standard and quality of service. The staff is both professional and attentive to special requests or needs. The proprietors, David and Laurie, have created, with great care and talent, a world-class historic inn. The pub atmosphere is reminiscent of the good "craic" and libation found in Ireland. Our room and ensuite were graciously appointed with attention to detail in linens and furnishings. The full breakfast was a perfect start to our day! We stayed two nights and are already planning our return!

Room Tip: Garden rooms are spacious and restful.

My husband and I stayed here for a romantic getaway before I started back to school. What a great place to stay!! The rooms are clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated with well cared for antiques. Breakfast in the dining room is a treat, with a well thought out menu (the huevos rancheros is my favorite). The best thing about the Shelburne, though, is the people. The owners and the staff are warm and welcoming. I can't wait to stay here again.
