“Pleasantly Surprised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013 via mobile

We travel to the Seatac area often to stay a night before catching an early morning flight. We have stayed at a lot of the better known chain hotels but have always been disappointed by the high room rates, poor room conditions and high parking rates, as much as $40 for one night.

After parking long term at the Masterpark Lot A the last two trips because of its close proximity to the airport, we decided to check out the Red Lion this trip. The two businesses operate on adjoining properties and the Masterpark office and shuttles are at the hotel's front entrance. BINGO!

Our room was large, very clean and nicely decorated and the staff were very friendly. All in, we paid under $200 for a one night stay plus 9 days of parking at Masterpark. The parking alone with web coupons would have been $112, which is very competitive for the area, so the room was essentially $85.

The next morning we were at the airport check-in counter within 5 minutes of leaving the hotel. On our return, Masterpark had our vehicle waiting at the front door of the hotel and the parking was already paid, so we only needed to transfer our suitcases, grab the keys and drive off. Again, only 5 minutes after boarding the shuttle at Seatac and we were already driving home. Nice!

We will definitely be staying here on all future trips. The convenience and price is unbeatable.

For SeaTac business travel, the Red Lion was a very good choice. It is literally within walking distance of the airport. (Exit baggage claim, head right down the sidewalk, and about 10 minutes later, there you are.) You are also within walking distance of the light rail station, so getting downtown is quick and inexpensive. The on-site restaurant, Gregory’s, had a surprisingly tasty breakfast buffet; in the bar at night, I had a pretty good plate of nachos with a microbrew. You’re also close to 13 Coins, a 24-hour diner that is worth the extra bit of walking.

The room, a king suite, was very large, so much so that the bathroom was a bit cramped by comparison. A door separated the toilet and shower from the exterior sink, which is always a welcome feature. The shower was hot and had great water pressure. The bed was comfortable and had plenty of small (not full size) pillows. No significant issues, but there was a problem with several DirecTV channels when I stayed there. It’s not a sparkling new property, but it is well maintained. I had never stayed at a Red Lion before, but I will have no problem supporting the brand in the future.

Stayed at this Red Lion location at the beginning and end of a vacation tour. Location across from Seatac is great, and the shuttle runs every 10 minutes or so. Facility is older and a bit worn, but it is clean and the beds were comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful both times we were there.

My wife and I stayed here in mid July while we were in Seattle for a wedding. The hotel is in a good location. Close to the airport with a restaurant right next door. The room was nice, quiet and comfortable. As a traveler who has stayed in many hotels around the world, if you're looking to stay somewhere on a budget that still has the comfort of a top hotel, I would recommend the Red Lion. We will definitely look to book with Red Lion on our next visit to Seattle.

We stayed here one night prior to our flight out. It is right across from the airport. The hotel is clean, well furnished , well maintained and the bedding was first class. Staff seemed friendly and competent. Noise was not a problem. Only minor issue is that the bathroom was small.

I love to get a great rate and surprisingly, I was able to do just that on the Red Lion site. Usually, I have to go to a secondary site, but not this time.

It was in the small print, but make sure you scope out the senior rate. Being older has some perks.
:-)

The King room was spacious and had lots of outlets for this techno granny to keep plugged in. In addition to the coffee maker, there was a mini fridge and microwave so our dinner leftovers made a pretty good brunch before we took off to the airport.

If there were planes nearby, somehow, we never heard them, and the shuttle service couldn't have been more perfect. This is a great place to stay when flying out of SeaTac!

This hotel is a perfect place for a overnight stay if you are flying out of Seatac. I stayed here for 4 days and ii was a little perturbed by the noises of this place. Make sure you put the do not disturb sign out if you are sleeping in because housekeeping starts early and will walk in on you because it seems they are in a hurry to get people in and out. They also make a lot of noise opening and closing the doors. While I stayed here a truck came and dropped a storage container in the parking lot, it shook the whole place and sounded like a plane crashed next door. I also had various experience at the front desk as I was treated well by some employees and not well by another. If you stay here bring earplugs.

Room Tip: There are no "good rooms" here. Maybe the top floor will be less noisy.

Thank you so much for taking time to write a review. While I'm happy you were satisfied with your stay, I regret you had to experience such disturbances with noise. We are in the process of installing new TV's, and had to rent a storage container for the old ones- though it is temporary, we should've made sure the process was more quiet. For that, I'm truly sorry.

We hope to welcome you again in the near future.
