“Not a “airport hotel” at all – great for long stays.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

We liked this Marriott so much that we wished we had stayed there our entire visit, instead of the downtown Courtyard we used. We stayed here our first night due to a late-arriving flight and then also our last night in town – just because we liked it so much. Honestly, for an “airport hotel" – this place is phenomenal. Our room was spacious, well-equipped and attractive. The restaurants were terrific. We later dined at Aqua Terra and when my daughter couldn’t find what she’d hoped for on the dinner menu, the manager brought her a lunch menu to look at. The lobby bar was pleasant and bartenders friendly. The indoor pool and atrium lounge area were clean, airy and a relaxing area for reading or board games. Check out the dry sauna in the pool ladies room! We really spent all our waking hours out in the atrium. And it’s a little surprising to see some complaining about service. We had the opposite experience. Upon calling the front desk for an extra blanket for our teen’s sofa bed, a housekeeper arrived within 5 minutes and insisted on making the whole bed for us. The front desk held the airport shuttle for us as we searched for a lost item. We could not have been happier with this hotel. We’ll stay longer next time.

Room Tip: Rooms not overlooking the pool atrium are quieter plus you get a great view of Mt. Rainier!

Three branches of our family met in Seattle for an Alaskan cruise together. Each branch stayed in a different airport hotel--Marriott, Radisson, and Hilton. All three are nice and are close together. I'd choose whichever one is the better deal, if you aren't looking for loyalty points as we were. We found prices for the Marriott varied greatly over time so keep checking back and use a senior or AAA discount if that applies to you.

If you fly into SEA-TAC, at the baggage corral, go to the elevator, go up to the Parking Deck level, cross the skywalk, then take the elevator down to Hotel Shuttles. The shuttle arrived just as we did and we got a fast and courtesy free ride to the Marriott, which was only a couple of minutes away.

The lobby has a large airy feel of a Northwestern lodge with beautiful stone, wood, and fireplace and lots of comfy seating. Not a cookie cutter Marriott. We mentioned several times at check-in that we had flown cross-country and that our jet lag demanded a quiet room. The clerk offered us two room that faced the courtyard. When questioned whether they were quiet, he said "really they are all the same." Unfortunately, the beautiful view of the atrium was accompanied by the Northwestern music of the pool. The rooms need quiet double pane windows to keep the room silent, just as the halls by the elevators' windows are. We asked to switch rooms and were offered a room by the elevators and vending machines. Concerned that this might also be noisy, we were offered a room at the back side of the hotel. This room was quiet, though a little smaller and had some trucks beeping outside at 6 am, but did give us the sleep we needed to get on Pacific time. The beds were okay and the bathroom was small but clean and functional.

The airy, attractive large indoor atrium in is in the center and is as many stories tall as the hotel. It features an irregular shaped pool and two hot tubs and nice lounges and towels. There are numerous comfy couches, tables, and chairs for lots of seating. It was the perfect place for family gatherings and teens who usually skip the pool were enticed to spend a few hours of fun. I doubt they would have entered the pool at the Hilton or Radisson's typical rectangular pool in small glass room. We had a great space for family time and had pizza delivered for an inexpensive dinner. There is a nice high end restaurant in the hotel and a few pricey steakhouse places nearby and a Mexican and Applebees about a mile away. Parking is about $20 a day and the nearby airport provides rental car opportunities. The light rail is $2.75 per person into downtown and is a short stroll away.

The concierge lounge, open for hors doerves Sun-Thursday evenings, served overcooked bacon wrapped scallops, a nice salad, fruit, crackers, cheese, and other light offerings. We also purchased two kids' chicken tender meals from the bar for $20 with tip for our picky eaters. It would have been nice to offer a second hot option such as mac and cheese or pasta to accommodate those with diets that are vegetarian, kosher, or allergic to seafood. Light snacks, yogurt, a coffee machine, milk, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Sierra Mist, and bottled water are available during the day. For breakfast (7 days a week), we found excellent fruit, cereal, breads, yummy muffins, juices, oatmeal, not great scrambled eggs, and delicious bacon (only offered the first morning--no meat was offered the second day, to our disappointment as it was delicious and one child's favorite protein).

Transportation to the cruise: we found a shuttle for $12 a person. It was convenient and dropped us off right at our pier. I'm not sure if a cab would be cheaper for a group of four, but all ten of our family from the three neighboring hotels fit in the van together and delivered us quickly and easily. The return driver was not as personable nor was the lady who assigned us to the vehicle but the price was reasonable and we got to the airport on time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room NOT facing the pool. The piped in music and pool noise pervades the room.

Van drivers are some of the best in the States, front desk staff lacks hospitality, wait staff tends to be arrogant, maids are good at cleaning but outright rude!!! Tip the van drivers...rain or snow they are on time!!! They handle luggage professionally. Front desk always come off as over worked...I can not tell you how many times my room keys have not worked...I have stayed here at least 30 times a year...and I always anticipate I will have to return to the front desk and deal with someones attitude...really??? It is as if I broke the key on the way to the room. The waitstaff in the bar is to be avoided...I found that sitting up at the bar I not only get great service...even for to go food...but I am actually given the "Bar" menu with the "Bar" prices verses the restaurant menu with the restaurant prices while sitting in a bar. The maids clean the rooms well but..they let the doors fall onto the bar latch as they go back and forth from their cart...causing the entire wall to shake and a boom like you are inside Big Ben!!! I have even had them walk in my room without knocking...with the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door handle. The beds are comfortable...bedding and lines are nice, small average bathroom..only 1 person can get ready at 1 time. Location is great!!!

Room Tip: Avoid rooms that look out onto the pool as the children can be loud. Also, if your room requires usi...

Hotel is located close to the airport (free shuttle) so for a short stay berore or after a flight is perfect. Rooms are clean and spacious, staff very friendly but the best is if you travel with children.
Hotel has a very nice and big indoor pool in a huge hall imitating a rainforest where my childrens (ages 8&11) loved to play and relax (there are also 2 hot tubs).
Close to the airport there is also a train station that can take you to central Seattle in 30 minutes for 4.2$ if you have some more time.
We enjoyed much our stay. Thanks.

We arrived late at night and some of our baggage missed the connection flight. This we required a return trip to the airport after midnight to pick up the missing baggage. The shuttle driver was always available within minutes to pick us up.

The hotel is on a hill a couple of blocks from the main street and the entrance to the airport. There is a light rail station on the main street at the bottom of the hill. The light rail travels from the airport to downtown for about $3.00. There are also several buses on the main street with excellent service to nearby cities. There is a large mall a couple miles away from the hotel that offers free transportation in the afternoon to and from the hotel.

The front desk clerk checked us in within a couple of minutes. We were in our rooms in less than five minutes of our arrival.

The rooms were average in size. The bathroom has a combination shower and tub. There is a large circular shower head with a very good stream of water. There is a single sink with a large counter top.

There is a large desk that with plenty of work space. The Internet speed was excellent without any connections problems. The rooms had a temperature control thermostatic.
The bedding was excellent with very soft and firm pillows.

We did not have enough time to try out the lobby restaurant and the indoor pool.

Room Tip: Lower level rooms around the pool. Upper levels facing the airport.

This property is located just a few blocks from the SeaTac International airport. The hotel is not new, but very well maintained, and up to the Marriott standard. The kids really enjoyed the Atrium pool and gardens. It was like a fort within a hotel and they just loved the Atrium and especially the pool. The room was quite comfortable and cozy. The mattress could use turning, but otherwise there is very little else to complain about.

The service really made our stay. I called down and asked for the concierge and was pleased when Jordan told me she would be able to get me reservations for 5 at Saltys. While we all enjoyed the pool she was able to get us a view table for 5 on short notice!! Her customer service was fantastic and only added to the whole experience. Thank you Marriott for the wonderful stay!

Room Tip: They have rooms that have a patio that opens up to the pool....

We only stayed here one night at the end of traveling through BC and Washington, and it was good, very clean. We weren't there long enough to try the pool but staff were very helpful when the AC wasn't working (there was a rare heat wave), helped us get into a different room. Only 10 minutes to the airport, no non-chain restaurants in the area but lots of chains at the nearby huge mall, so location is good
