“Pre-Cruise stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

This was a very nice hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean, the sheets were high quality, pillows good, toiletries good, hotel layout was unique, staff was friendly and courteous, and the room was quiet. We took the free shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and it seemed like a longer wait than other free hotel shuttles; however, I would take the shuttle again versus taking a cab. All in all, a good airport hotel.

Stayed two nights at this Marriott and it was convenient to the airport and interstates, clean, had great personnel and reasonable rates for Seattle. Food is quite good and for a sprawling hotel it is easy to get around. Will stay again.

This is really an airport hotel. The main issue with this hotel is that it's far away from everything. The hotel itself is nice with a very nice lobby/bar and restaurant, good sport facilities etc. On walking distance you will find the lightrail station which takes you to downtown Seattle in about half an hour. A lot cheaper than a taxi (about $40).

This Marriott left us underwhelmed for the price paid ($179 + taxes). But if you get a more reasonable rate, then consider this location because the bar staff were nice, rooms clean and bed very comfy. The morning receptionist at check-out was most efficient (The late night staff at check-in less so, since while one was busy trying to accomodate the line of everyone who just arrived from the shuttle, another was more interested in first chatting/lounging with other staff). What makes this Marriott a great consideration is for beginning a trip needing a car. We flew from the East Coast (after work) to Seattle airport arriving late (10pm - even later "body clock" time feeling 12midnight). So we decided it best to first check into a hotel nearby for a good night's rest, before our week long journey to Hurricane Ridge, the San Juan Islands, etc. This Marriot was selected because it offered complimentary shuttle service from the airport direct to the hotel. AND has a Hertz rental desk on site! It really was SO very convenient to awaken the following morning, check out, then immediately pick up our rental car and hit the road.

Room Tip: The hotel is a large square, circling the pool which means some rooms at the back are quite a far wa...

Arrived here due to the weather on the East Coast, and was impressed by the property. Nice restaurants and concierge lounge. The rooms are very fresh too. In addition the front desk was very attentive and professional. A great stay for the tired business traveler.

Room Tip: Stay in a corner room.

Good things:

1.Comfy bed
2. Good, fast room service
3. Nice LG HD flat screen, good channel selection (not your typical 8 million ESPN channels - actual variety here)
4. Free shuttle every fifteen minutes to and from the airport at convenient times
5. Starbucks coffee in the coffee shop (that's actually open till 9p) but see notes in "Bad Things" about the shop

Average things:

1. Lobby
2. Staff
3. Hotel amenities
4. In room amenities

Bad things:

1. Unbelievably overpriced coffee and gift shop with a pushy staff. Pints of Ben and Jerry's for $10? Seriously? Candy bars for $2.99? Avoid it if you can.
2. Cleanliness is just okay;should be better for a Marriott
3. Weird layout of this hotel. Not that easy to navigate your way around.
4. $12.95 for internet. Why do hotels try to charge for this these days? Bring your own and save money.
5. Small room. Not recommended for long term stays. You'll get claustrophobic.

Would I stay here again? Nah. Better choices available.

Room Tip: Even numbered rooms face the atrium where you may get noise from families/people using the pool. Odd...

Pros: Awesome rooms, great bar, friendly service, and classy. I have stayed here about 10 times. Close to the airport. Huge indoor pool and hot tubs. Decent work out area.

Cons: Parking. Go with Valet only a couple dollars more. I don't understand why parking his so expensive here. It is not in a high volume area. Over $20 a day is excessive. The only other complaint is the breakfast buffet in the morning is rediculous expensive. I think it was over $20. It was good, but come on.... it is breakfast. Internet is not free, but you can get free internet w/ a silver or above rewards status.

Other Option: They have a courtyard in Tukwila about 10 minutes away. It is not as nice, but closer to bars and restaurants. Parking there is also free.
