I visited here in January for a conference. I have attended the conference before, but this was my first time actually staying at the Doubletree.
First off, this place is huge. There are 850 rooms, spread out between a tower (where I was placed) and separate multi-level "wings."
Check-in was easy, and the staff friendly. The warm welcome cookie was a nice touch.
My room was clean, spacious, with two queens, a lounge chair, desk, and flat screen TV. The bed was comfortable with simple but attractive linens. There was a coffee maker but no microwave or fridge.
Though I didn't end up using it, I checked out the fitness center. It's in a wing, and pretty confusing to find (given the floors don't all communicate). Once there, I found it to be decently appointed, with free weights, two weight machines, and plenty of cardio.
I didn't visit any of the restaurants, either, but the catered lunches were tasty. The continental breakfasts were pretty bland, but there is a coffee "shop" near check-in with pastries (not sure how they taste).
Overall I found the hotel comfortable & convenient, but a little over-priced when you factor in the cost of amenities most hotels include.
Pros: modern decor, comfortable bed, convenient location to I-5 and SeaTac airport.
Cons: no fridge or microwave in standard rooms, parking is costly ($20/night), complimentary wifi only in public areas ($15/24 hours for in-room access).
Tips: try to stay in the tower if you don't want to have a long, possibly confusing walk to your room.
Recommendations (for management): offer free in-room Internet access - it's off-putting in today's culture to have to pay, especially considering the price charged for the room.

Dear DoubleTree guest, Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us. We are so pleased to hear that you found the staff friendly, the room clean and the food tasty. We appreciate your candid review of our property. New perspectives about our hotel help us make improvements to our guest experience on an ongoing basis. Unfortunately parking is at a premium in the area since we are near the airport, however we do try to provide a convenient and affordable option for our guests. Additionally we have a staff that manages the valet and parking lot to insure that it is safe and secure. We hope you enjoyed your conference and hope to see you again. Best regards, Casey Knopik
