“Good deal for thrifty travelers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2011

If you are looking for an inexpensive place to sleep and park your car while flying in and out of Seattle, the Seatac Inn is an excellent choice. The hotel is as basic as it gets in terms of amenities, but the price is right: my family of five stayed there for a total of two nights and left our car parked at the hotel lot for three weeks with a hotel shuttle back and forth from the airport . . . the total cost was 250 dollars. The rooms themselves are very basic: the mattresses, towels, and walls are all equally thin. However, our room was clean and worked for what we needed--a place to lay our head on our travels. While the hotel lacks in amenities, the service is excellent with a friendly and efficient staff. The hotel shuttle was consistently speedy--no more than a few minutes wait. Great deal for budget travelers.

My wife and I wanted to upgrade from the 1.5 star Quality Inn SeaTac so we booked a 2 star hotel (SeaTac Inn) through Expedia. We were very disappointed that the 2 star motel is much worse than the 1.5 star we moved from. The SeaTac Inn appears to be a Motel 6 or Econolodge that they abandoned because it couldn't meet their standards. The exterior facade and carpet is very dirty and worn. Room 211 is very sparse and worn. The wood TV stand and table are scraped and have names carved in them. There was heavy dust on the wooden shelf above the iron pipe clothes bar. The towel bar in the bathroom is broken so there is no towel bar. The bathroom floor tile is cracked and there is messy 1” wide caulking trying to cover cracks in joints. It was impossible to keep the shower water temperature steady without it switching to very cold or scalding hot. We had to fill the tub and take baths to keep our skin. There were several shady characters hanging around the parking lot the day we arrived. There is no safe in the room and if we ever felt like we needed a safe it’s here. “Breakfast” was ½ a muffin, coffee, and tea. Expedia rates the SeaTac Inn 2 stars like several Days Inns and Comfort Inn but is not even remotely close. Unfortunately this was a non-refundable “Unpublished Rate Hotel” so we are stuck with it. On the plus side they provide complimentary airport transportation, the wireless internet worked well, and the office staff was friendly and helpful. It is only a short walk to the light rail train to downtown.

When you are paying $39 for a motel (which includes free shuttle/free WiFi) within walking distance from the airport , you can't expect the Hilton.
That said, this is the 2nd time I've stayed here in the last year. No problems at checkin/checkout, room is clean, quiet (didn't hear the planes across the street), water is hot. This motel is likely one of the two oldest ones in the area and it shows inside and out.
But if you are looking for the basics, this is it.
Denny's next door, Sushi next to that and there used to be a good place next to that inside the Holiday Inn. (not sure if it's still there)
Three blocks from Light rail/bus stop.

The first room we got was filthy, the bedspread had a burn hole in it, the sheets and blanket also had holes, there was hair on the pillowcase, next room had hairs in the bathtub, the washclothes were dirty, there were bloodmarks on the wall. It was disgusting, someone should tell thehealth dept.. Couldn't get out of there fast enough!! The noise from the room above was bad, could hear the TV and the floor squeaking everythime someone walked, could hardly sleep. The airport shuttle was fast good service but a dirty van as well.

Room Tip: tried two different rooms both awful

I stayed there twice because of convenience to the airport. Both times, we got rooms in the second floor and the carpets were dirty and old and the window was broken. You get what you pay for, but they really need to at least have clean floors, fix the windows, and seriously update the bedding.

Basic motel a block from Seatac Light Rail station. A bit threadbare, and planes take off nearby, but a very good deal at $39 with roomsaver.com coupon. Manager & wife efficient and polite. No funny smells. They really should replace the busted showerheads, however. Most cities' water departments give away free showerheads, anyway.

I stayed at this place for 3 nights. The female front desk receptionist was absolutely amazing. She helped me with whatever I needed and her attitude was wonderful. The male front desk receptionist (middle age with glasses), I was not so happy with. Actually I was downright furious with. If you want to stay here, make sure that the male worker is not working when you are getting ready to leave. He walks in on you to remind you, along with attitude, to remind you to get out when you're a bit after check out time. Did I mention I was in the middle of CHANGING?! Imagine how a girl feels when she is half naked, trying to change to leave, and then sees the male clerk barging in to remind me that I need to check out NOW.

The place overall is not that bad. The rooms are nice enough and the place is clean. IF it was not for the male clerk, my experience there WOULD have been great. I give it one star because of him. He needs a change of attitude, respect, manners, EVERYTHING. He should not have made any judgments on us. NOT a good first impression of the guy.
